Does anyone know the details of Fitz's (new) Grand Jury?
Has he gone and selected a current/new GJ yet and if he did do they meet on Wednesdays and Fridays like the last one?

Also does anyone know the gender and race of the jurors?

Any kind of details would be most appreciated.

thank you

1. There are always grand juries seated
They're always there, and their schedules are usually the same. People have lives, after all, and that must be considered.

A prosecutor takes his case to whatever grand jury is most convenient, depending on when he's ready. There is no special grand jury convened just for Patrick Fitzgerald's investigation.

It's also routine not to give out any information about the composition of a grand jury, but, in the District of Columbia, it's usually a good bet to guess that the majority of the jury are African-American, working class, with a few professionals - black or white - thrown in.

OK?

process for the DC area.:eyes:

It just seems like to me Fitz would have a reporter following him around the clock and by virtue of watching him one could conclude when he was making moves in regards to the Plame case.

Thanx for the update

3. Well, no
I'm sorry my information fell short of your expectations. What I gave you was the overview of Federal grand juries. The population information was gleaned from the demographics of theplace where the grand jury in which you're interested is located.

I have no idea where you got the idea that a reporter would follow an investigator "around the clock." He operates independently, without anyone sneaking peeks at him, and, as you've seen with the Libby announcement, Fitzgerald will let the public know when his actions are for public consumption.

Until then, he operates independently, which is how it should be.

Again, sorry my information wasn't adequate for you. Maybe someone else will be able to give you more of what you want.

4. I did not mean to offend you if I did, and I am not a lawyer but I am
familiar with the judicial processes from city up to Federal courts, all I was saying in regards to the reporter statement is this.

Fitz has to go to court in order to display evidence / make his case to a GJ before indictments are filed, correct? (unless there was a sealed indictment from the last GJ)

There has been some new testimonies from Novak(sorry if name is spelled wrong) and Woodward - these could have happened in Fitz's office or anywhere private.

So based on this new set of statements wouldn't we be able to read the tea leaves this way? Fitz gets new information from the above mentioned people or another unknown source. Fitz then goes to court to make his case to the GJ to seek indictments. If a reporter was watching this(Fitz going to court that is) then we may have some kind of indication that possible indictments may be on the way for Rove or someone else:toast:. I know this is a lot of reading into things, but a lot of clues and indicators can be gleaned from people's actions.

This thing is killing me thats all.

5. Grand jury proceedings are secret
and so is the work Fitzgerald is doing. There's a reason for that.

So, right now, all you can be certain of is that no one knows anything.

Relax. Don't let it eat at you. Use your time and energy for something fun and productive.

An aside: you will find, I think, that Fitzgerald's investigation may not yield any more indictments, since the law that was allegedly violated is an impossibly difficult one to prove broken.

What you want to keep an eye on - and, granted, it's much more complicated, so you'll really have to concentrate - is the Abramoff/Scanlon matter. Scanlon's already copped a plea, Abramoff's been indicted, and their ties to members of Congress and god knows who else are many. This will, I suspect, turn out to be the big story - not Fitzgerald.

Don't let it kill you. Life's too short.

I hope this information helps.

I think oldleftylawyer's first post is your best bet.
