*:"to withdraw would send a message across the world that America is weak"

Transcript: President Bush's Speech on the War on Terrorism

<snip>

Senator Lieberman is right: Setting an artificial deadline to withdraw would send a message across the world that America is weak and an unreliable ally.

Setting an artificial deadline to withdraw would send a signal to our enemies that if they wait long enough, America will cut and run and abandon its friends.

And setting an artificial deadline to withdraw would vindicate the terrorist tactics of beheadings and suicide bombings and mass murder and invite new attacks on America.

To all who wear the uniform, I make you this pledge: America will not run in the face of car bombers and assassins so long as I am your commander in chief.

(APPLAUSE)

Seems to be a very telling statement. It's all about ego with this SOB.

2. An unreliable ally to WHOM? Israel? We are made weaker, and more hated
by the world every minute we stay there...And the whole world knows that we are there for Halliburton et.al.'s freedom, not the Iraqis.

3. It's not America that's weak George...
It's you... the commander in chief...
and you made an awful mistake
leading this country (and the world)
into war and it's time for you to resign.
Desperately clinging to power
is the ultimate sign of your own weakness.

Go. Now.

4. * has already sent that message.
His policies are getting US servicemembers killed left and right, while doing nothing whatsoever to quell the violence and insurgency in Iraq--violence that he started.

Since, according to the State Department report from January of this year, global terrorism has increased 400% since 2003, I think the message * is sending is perfectly clear to the rest of the world.

5. The question is when, not whether, to cut and run. We lost. We lost when
we went in. We lost the world's respect. We lost the chance to be an effective force in building a peaceful Iraq. We lost the right to use rhetoric about peace and freedom and have anyone believe a word we said.

We already lost, George. How many more people do you have to kill before you admit that?

6. Withdrawal is only half the plan.
Jailing the neocon cabal is the other half. That would send a message to the world that our leaders are not above the law. That they have to answer for their crimes no matter who they are. And it would send a signal to the world that the country that once stood for freedom and democracy is on the road to recovery from it's brush fascism.

10. What allies
You mean the allies that have already cut and run on you? Who's left helping us again? Personally I think the term president George Bush sends a message across the world that America is weak and an unreliable ally.

12. Uh, no. Throwing our entire military at a contained enemy...
... and being unable maintain control afterward -- that sent the message that America is weak.

FACT: Invading Iraq was the biggest military blunder in American history.

Heck of a job, Bushie.

:grr:
