Last time I checked, about a week ago, it was 72.

3. But the hate radio hosts all say it's already failed
I'm so confused. Should I believe the actual affiliates who broadcast AAR? Or should I believe an Oxycontin addict who is incapable of telling the truth?

4. It's BS
I don't know about each and every station listed there but one of them...WPTT-AM 1360 in Pittsburgh is absolutely NOT an air america station. They play Laura Inghram for pete's sake!

WTF?

5. That is the number of stations broadcasting thier content.
Not all of them are AAR stations or even completely progressive stations.

6. Ah ok, so they sneak in one show and it's listed
Thom Hartmann is the only show on the station. It's tucked in between local or conservative (often both) hosts, and Laura Ingraham and Alan Colmes.

Whatever. It shouldn't be listed there as a station because it carries one show.

9. Sneak?
Thom Hartmann is the only show on the station. It's tucked in between local or conservative (often both) hosts, and Laura Ingraham and Alan Colmes.

What does the other programming on the station have to do with the fact that it is a station carrying AAR programming?

Whatever. It shouldn't be listed there as a station because it carries one show.

It is a station that carries thier programming. Why should they not list it as such?

11. Because it's one show
I've been waiting to get it onair in pittsburgh for a while and when I saw it listed there I was very happy. Then I checked them out and it was mostly crap radio. What does other programming on the station have to do with it? it's a 24 hour day. If they carry 3 hours of AAR programming, it means they carry 21 hours of other programming, the majority of which is vomit inducing.

They should list it as carrying certain shows, not just blanket list it as one of their stations. Listing it as one of their stations implies it carries the majority of it's programing, if not all.

13. I suppose we shall have to agree to disagree.
I didnt percieve any such implication on the website. But that may be because I have known from the start what they were referring to.

14. Perhaps
Prior knowledge always plays a factor. It's just that the link says 'find a station' and you click it and it lists the 80+ stations. One of them listed is Pittsburgh, PA - WPTT-AM 1360. It doesn't say anything about partial content anywhere.

In fact on the same page it says 'on now' and has (now) the Al Franken Show. Up Next...The Randi Rhodes show from 3-7pm. Right there on the side of the page next to the listings. I don't think it's outrageous to click on find a station, have a listing of stations and next to the listings say 'on now...' and think oh...if I tune to that station I'll be able to hear say Al Franken.

It doesn't say anywhere that it just means the station carries some of the content. According to that they could play Thom Hartman from 2-5am, and the rest of the time have Rush, Hannity, Ingraham, etc and it would be listed there on the page?

No that's not cool. If they list a station it should either play the AAR stream, or it should be noted that it plays only certain syndicated shows on it's own schedule.

I guess you can disagree with me all you like, but the fact is that I was excited to have it on the radio, so I could listen to it in my car. Then I tune to it and hear Laura Ingraham.

8. Somebody said on one of the threads they get Rhodes
on podcasts. They said it takes a while to download but then it's commercial free. Anybody know how that's done? I don't see anything for podcast download.

15. That's the only way I can listen too
There's no station in DE (yet), and the one in PA has a weak signal. So I can only hear AAR thru internet streaming.

17. Notice how they don't give web site links for those stations
Edited on Wed Nov-30-05 04:56 PM by drbtg1
Wouldn't that be helpful for listeners to find when the AAR programs are scheduled? But no, can't have that.

Once again, a bogus PR move that really doesn't help get their programming available.
