Let's look at the evidence... You ought to know where your taxes are going. To the tune of US$300 million to the British firm called Aegis.

A spokesman for Aegis Defence Services, said: “There is nothing to indicate that these film clips are in any way connected to Aegis.” according to the UK Daily Telegraph article.

The video is up here.

http://www.chris-floyd.com/fallujah/contract/

It looks like the men who work for AEGIS IRAQ PSD TEAMS may have been responsible. You can clearly see the vehicle which was used in a photo taken directly from their website. (add www. before this - aegisiraq.co.uk/images/Victory3.jpg

The image below has been modified for clarification.

-The green belt strap hanging from the SUV. It can be seen in the video.
-The tinted windows and the wiper, are both in the vid and photo.
-The "Danger" sign posted on the rear of the SUV. Meaning, they WILL shoot if you come too close.

Now lets look at some of the comments by other mercs who work for Aegis. The Aegis board has gone silent but here's some comments that were there.

rear gunner video and the media

guys, ref the video, are you surprised at this?? I mean you post this and other stuff on an unsecure site for everybody (media/terrorists etc) to see. Are you all fucking mad?? It's like the fusiliers getting their 'torture' photos developed at snappy snaps.....how daft can you get? All this plays into the hands of those that see us as mercenaries/ baby killers/ whatever. You wait for the fallout now. What the FUCK were you thinking putting it on here? I got sent it via other means, and believe me it's fast becoming the new 'Edinburgh Risk' video, ie everyone's seen it and it makes you all (and reflectively all of us in the AOR) look like cowboys. And it's a pretty bad clip lets face it (er, how many 'warning shots'??) I'm surprised the Guardian/Mirror and all the other media wankers haven't leapt on it (yet). Engage the brains guys cos EVERYONE can read these posts.... Incidentally, been doing PSD since summer '03 both high & low profile. No prizes for guessing which one I prefer..

.. fuck me when has Iraq ever been a "low threat" environment? Every time you roll out the wire expect the worst. Theres one drill, if it looks dodgy and its approaching at warp factor 9, hand signals - warning shots - brass the fucker into the stone age ... Im sick and tired of so called experienced "London BG's" deploying out and trying to tell you how best to do the job. I rely 110% on my prior military experience, because lets face it when did this war ever end?

...Afterall lets admit it, the bad guys have made more progress in 2 years than the IRA made in 20 and we have to match that......only way is to be taught by operators who have had their boots on the ground out here. The majority of our drills are "bastardised" to fit the current environment, its the only way. And having a rear element keeping traffic away from the principal is part of this. Theres the right way and wrong way of course, those muppets from Zapata engineering are a clear cut case. They made life that bit more difficult for all of us after they drove around Fallujah having a go at anything that moved...Just watched the Movie clip, jesus it must be bad if all Cars that advance towards you at speed get the hell shot out of it, is it generally known to stay back from PSD Teams ?? a certain distance ? by the Local populace! Not that I suppose it matters, being that your's and the client's safety come first. but how many cars have been shot up where a husband has been trying to get his wife to the Hospital ?? in the process of dropping a sprog. Like I say to be honest I recon i would be popping off a few rounds in order to get through the run of that day. What an existance to be in. A coward getting away with murder..or thinking he is !!!!! The whole team is guilty of murder and by stupidly airing this piece of rubbish they will be prosecuted eventually. Aegis should be kicked out of Iraq whole scale for employing these muppets and murderers. This will effect us all eventually. I'd like a few minutes alone with this cowboy to see if he is as brave as he thinks he is.Respectively that footage is the most damning footage of trigger happy body count hunters that i have witnessed, it has done nothing but show the copmpany and the lads it employs in a bad light, and if i was looking to employ a company that would certainly ensure that aegis didn't get the contractThe footage of the rear gunner is quite simply a disgrace, myself nor a single person I have spoken to agree's with the actions carried out. I would like to say that if that guy was in team I was with then he would definately get the beating of his life from not just his team but all the other teams, however I can not say that as the fuck wit would not make it anywhere near the important role as rear gunner. who on earth is keeping an eye on this guy, he should have been booted in to touch after the first one and to let him carry on waxing the fuck out of who he feels like is disgusting. This video is circulating all over the net, and all it shows is a complete fucking trigger happy idiot who is inept at his job and possibly scared shitless of any vehicle coming within 200mtrs of him. This does not do any of the firms working out here any favour's. Now straight away people will say that we don't know what happened before the shots were fired, fair one but come on, SEVERAL ROUNDS, AUTOMATIC PROBABLY FROM A MINIMI WITH FUCKING ELVIS THE KING PLAYING FOR A SOUNDTRACK. Why was it put on the site? we all know this is open to everyman and his dog and believe me apart from not doing Aegis any favour's, FUCK THAT it doesn't do any out fit out here any favours. Just a question on this footage that people are speaking about. What exactly happens in this video and where online is it available? I myself used to film from the rear and turn in the footage at the debrief if anything happened. I nearly got into trouble for one incident but was cleared of any wrong doing. the footage had been viewed months after the incident by people in an office with little or no actual time on the ground and they failed to take into account the events and Intel at the time. Needless to say, I do not make videos for the headsheds/ops/int any more. Just want to know what happened in this footage just to make sure it isnt mine surfacing again, although by the way people are speaking of it , I dont think it is, just want to be clear. Thanks for your comments, Never a truer word spoken, unless you where there to watch the whole event unfold who is anyone to judge the duties of the rear gunner. The head shed has scared a lot of rear gunners and some have had to resign before being sacked and all for carrying out their duties. What is the point of a rear gunner who because of possible ramifications is to scared to stop a fast moving incoming vehicle in a land where any of them could be a VBIED. Check out how many people have died in Baghdad alone through having a VBIED slam into the rear of them. Check out the VBIED at CP 12 watch how he crept onto the rear of the queue. Even at checkpoints the rear gunner has a duty to keep all vehicles back. A rear gunner has to have the courage of his convictions and also a great big set of balls ... it was the rear gunners that where returning fire, putting their lives on the line for the safety of their team and the clients. I take my hat off to the rear gunner’s

This is the beginning of the end for all of us operating in Iraq. All because Aegis doesn't vet its men properly. That video footage is fucking shocking, but what is more unbelievable is the fact that these wankers posted it on the web....Cowboys and cowards.....Lets hope Aegis loses its contract and a professional company gets it..!!!!!!!!

2. That part is confusing
Because he relates the Zapata guys to Fallujah I think. And what happened there.

This has to do with Baghdad and the infamous, "Irish Route".

Right after he talks about Zapata - he goes onto 'our boys' and that means Aegis - as this was a forum for staff in Iraq from Aegis.

3. I am all for handing those people over to Iraqi justice
to deal with however they see fit and I am completely serious.

It would only be appropriate - those were random fathers, brothers, people going to work, picking up food to feed their families, going to the doctor, whatever. Those Aegis employees do not deserve the protection of America and do not need to be associated with us.

I sincerely hope they don't make it back.

5. Love this one comment:
when has Iraq ever been a "low threat" environment?

I don't know, maybe the poster should have checked with Jean Schmidt during the 05 campaign . . . when her people tried to claim that Paul Hackett's Iraq tour was cushy . . .

a car ahead for not moving on a green light or slowing/stopping in traffic only to realize there is an emergency vehicle approaching. I remember feeling like a complete ass but at least I didn't get a windshield full of lead.

7. 293 Million Dollars
US$293 million dollars of US taxpayers' money.

US auditor criticises Aegis contract

From the Washington Post:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A10772-2005Apr22.html

A controversial British firm responsible for a $293 million U.S. Army security contract in Iraq could not prove that its armed employees received proper weapons training or that it had vetted Iraqi employees to ensure they did not pose a threat, according to a government audit released yesterday.

In addition to criticizing Aegis Defence Services Ltd., the audit took aim at the Army's contracting office in Iraq for poor oversight. It reported that the official who was supposed to keep watch over Aegis's contract had not been trained in either monitoring contracts or security. The office was also severely short-staffed: At the time of the audit, 41 officials were administering 6,500 contracts and task orders.

As the Post article notes, Aegis is the company run by Tim Spicer, who was the commanding officer of the two Scots Guards who killed Peter McBride. http://www.serve.com/pfc/pmcbride/mcbindex.html

I wonder if the US Army Contracting Agency still thinks Spicer has a "satisfactory record of integrity and business ethics."

8. More comments from the Mercenaries
Dear Mr Spicer, I am assuming by now you have read all of the antics of the so called amazing head shed of Baghdad. I'm sure I dont need to mention how seriously life threatening the last stunt could have been. I mean its not like Route Irish (Airport Road also known as the most dangerous road in the world) is dangerous, its perfectly safe according to some personnel, funny how its only the personnel who only travel on it once every 10 weeks to go on leave, oh no I forgot every 6 weeks as the admin staff seem to go on leave when they want and not when they are told. Anyway this is not what I am writing to you about, I have asked for your E-Mail address several times and for some reason no-one wants to give it to me, strange! Mr Spicer I think aside from the problems you clearly have with your admin staff in Baghdad and the problem that in fact you have lost all respect of SET/LT members who are on the ground and in fact keeping this company and contract stable. You also have the problem of alcohol and drugs within the regions, Regional Directors, Operations staff and even SET/LT Team leaders have the knowledge that there is clearly an alcohol problem within the regions and dne nothing about it, DIWANIYAH ESPECIALLY. This is not just SET/LT Team members who incidently are armed 24 hours per day and probably drunk for 12 hours per day it is a problem within the management of the regions for the following reasons: Not only are they drunk almost every night they are getting drunk with the guys who are on the ground, the guys who are protecting Aegis's clients and each other. You should also maybe ask about the missions to Baghdad from Diwaniyah just to collect alcohol, I myslef have been on some of those missions even though I expressed my opinion at the time and was told there are plenty more CV's in London. Also maybe you might want to ask where certain members of Diwaniyah managment and SET/LT members spent the night of the 12th May, Im sure you wont get the truth which is they were arrested by Polish soldiers for being very drunk and violent. The second major problem you have is, why is it the Army have CDT's? Im sure you can think of a dozen reasons right now. Shouldnt Aegis be having CDT's aswell for the exact same reasons, drugs is becoming a problem in Iraq especially performance enhancing drugs. This is not necessarilly drugs on the ground but definately when personnel are on leave, Im no doctor but im pretty sure if it has been in your system then it definately effects you for longer than a few days. I know for definate of a handful of personnel who take hard core drugs on leave. Well Mr Spicer I have said my piece, I really hope that you don't just take this as another ex-Aegis member throwing his teddy, this is something I truly beleive is a major problem and something I definately beleive is going to result in the loss of life. Just for your information also it is not just Aegis personnel who know the address to this message board, I know directors of other major companies in the sand pit are finding it very interesting reading. Sincerly,

Hi all Can someone explain to me what is all this bol'''cks with GUNSHIPS??? Since when did we turn into septic's and just cabby away at vehicles because they come TOO CLOSE?. who thought of the name GUNSHIP Mr A Murphy? I always thought that pulling the trigger was a last resort and not a jolly at people who cant shoot back. Now before i get all the numb nuts with the 'I BET YOU HAVENT CRAP' yes i have. What i am trying to establish is why we have found ourselves in this postion. I would welcome comments from operators as to why we have lost sight of who we are and why we no longer use intel and common sense and decent drills. I can understand how some people have been brainwashed by the American way of things, how many people are now walking about with so much kit on if they fell over they would be like a turtle and not get up again. We seem to have reached the stage where we are admitting our drills are so shit we ARE GOING to be pinged so lets take as much kit as we can to get us out of the situation. What are the three principals of BG/CPO work AVOID ESCAPE CONFRONT When did it become take as much kit as you can so we can CONFRONT. take care all and stay safe M

A couple of things that worry me from your comments! 'Roll out the wire' 'brass the fuckers into the stone age''they should be following ure drills' i rely on my mil experience 1110% Just for your info i have worked the North as well as the south, I had a PKM in my rear GMC i never had to bras the fuckers into the stone age i also never had an attack against my principal. I served 15 years in the mil (teeth arms) can you explain to me just what military experience you rely on 110% Now I AM NOT HAVING A DIG i have beed doing this form of work for some time iraq afgan europe eastern europe uk one thing i have learnt is that you never stop learning. The one thing that worries me is i know from experinece in NI and other places as soon as you start to piss locals off in THEIR back yard you loose respect and you end up as recruiters for the bad boys. Piss some one off and they will tell 15 people do something good and they will tell three. How many teams do you think are working ot here without having to brass the fuckers. Take care and stay safe m

I wish you people would realise that this is business not the military profits are made good people move on that's life in the modern world (TS wants profit thats all like you want your pay) If you are unhappy working for these people move on. We are modern day Mercenaries we do this job because we made the decision to do it we are not forced to pick up a gun to earn cash we do it for the buzz or else you would be working in an office crying to your union. In every walk of life you get dickheads, hangers on and walts when you were in the military did you go about questioning your boss about how much leave he took the answer NO You earn your money the hard way so if your not happy leave or have the balls to punch the twat but stop whinging about it. I have not worked in IRAQ because of the amount of civilians taking up armed work and who are ruining this business I am a professional who works in mainly in Africa and have done so for the last 10yrs I take a contract pick up a gun and earn my cash i dont cry like a girl when i dont agree with something my boss does how many of you would work for nothing fighting a war because its there and you can have fun i think not many but you go back to the pubs in UK and tell your mates what hard bastards you are i know i have heard you well i have had my rant vodka and a key board dont mix but one last word if you want to be a mercenaries live like one be honest to youself dont live a lie and always look for the next move.
