Rush Limbaugh has made $599,400 so far on his Adopt-A-Soldier Program
http://www.suntimes.com/output/quicktakes/cst-nws-qt30.html

Merry Christmas, Rush

Rush Limbaugh regarding his in-house promotion to support our troops, in which people can donate Rush 24/7 memberships to soldiers and sailors overseas by paying a reduced price of $49.95 each (down from $59.90):

"The Adopt-A-Soldier Program is just going great guns. We've got over 12,000 donors. I kid you not. I cannot thank you enough -- and I'm going to be matching all these myself so you can double that."

Which means he has taken in about $599,400 so far.

And he will match that by taking another $599,400 from his own pocket.

And putting it in another of his pockets.

1. Rush is screwing the troops at the expense of his listeners
And people actually think this drug addicted COWARD is something to believe in.

Freepers are dumber than they look.

19. Kinda like what the "Duke" did at the expense of the Troops!
Repugs are scum of the Earth! Every last one of them! Bunch of greedy, self serving, self absorbed, self righteous assholes! Have I said lately how much I hate them? Rat bastards!

2. Oh yeah...
I guess the money he puts in will be used to buy products "for the troops" from his own company, from which he obviously profits.

I imagine the move will have some desirable tax benefits too - in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the whole idea was thought up as a tax dodge to start with.

Eat shit and die, Rush... may that "Vietnam boo-boo" cyst return and rise to strangle what's left of your drug-addled brain.

5. Stupid freepers are actually giving him money for this?
Did it ever occur to these brain cell deficient ditto-heads that Limbaugh could have just DONATED memberships to any soldier that requested one?

Stupid is as stupid does.

9. Sure he has
If someone must qualify a sentence by saying that the sentence is true, chances are the sentence is false. It's one of the red flags for spotting a liar.

11. There is that many idiots?
Well, I guess Bush was reelected.

I guess a more proper question would be "There is that many idiots with tons of money to throw away?"

Well, I guess this is the American economy.

13. W wasn't even elected once. 12,000 wouldn't win a precinct
These numbers actually make me feel optimistic - considering the hype about the many millions that supposedly listen to him.

With an 8 year, 285 million dollar contract, this is chump change.

17. Send this to Keith Olbermann so he can follow up on his Worst Person
in the World feature where he previously featured Rush's "deal", along the lines of "if you want to support the troops, why don't you DONATE the memberships to them yourself?"

21. Hey, lighten up, soldiers will be getting subcriptions to a Rush magazine!
Retail value might well be twice what he collected.

Although, Rush's benefactors, that is the ones for whom Rush shills, will happily reimburse Rush for all expenses.

The Freepers will, of course, continue to be ignorant. As will anyone using a Rush mag for anything other than latrine paperwork.

Edited on Wed Nov-30-05 07:22 PM by niallmac
If I had the addresses of just the 12,000 people who fell for Rushs' scheme I could be rich. I'd sell them pet rocks, dirt from Mars (Le Mars Iowa that is), a balloon full of random molecules suitable for collecting. I could sell them anything! Oh please please I want that mailing list.

The only thing Rush has a high tolerance for is his false drugs!
