One side of me wants to see how bad they could make the US.
Edited on Wed Nov-30-05 04:18 PM by Buddyblazon
You know that side of yourself that slows down for the traffic accident? The side that we only try to keep under lock and key because we know it's not right?

That side of me wants to see just how bad they can screw things up. I know it's wrong. And 95% of me is praying for the population to wake up and come to their senses.

But that other 5%...we'll call it "Fred"...wonders just exactly how bad it could get?

Fred wants to see them overturn the right to choose. Fred wants to see them bring back the draft. Fred wants to see them "liberate" many more countries. Fred wants to see them take all of the money out of education and dump it all on developing ONE bomber. Fred wants to see them give more and more power over to their corporate chums until there is no denying we are a fascist state. Fred wants to see the Constitution used as piece of cheap toilet paper. Fred wants to see them outlaw the NAACP. Fred wants to see them spend, spend, spend like a rich teenage girl with Daddy's credit card.

Fred wants to see them open the floodgates and see just how bad they can run our country into the ground...and how far the sheeple would be willing to let them go.

Fred is just morbidly curious. And he wants to know...would people still vote for the assholes when they're living in shanties and have to fill out paperwork in triplicate when they want to take a dump?

2. I tried to appease Fred....
with Joni Mitchell songs and several bags of GORP (good ol' raisins and peanuts).

But he's not having any of it. He's recently been trolling the aisles at Home Depot for a good quality rake and some torches.

4. I still see W04 stickers on cars, so I
have to assume that there are some people so stupid, uninformed, and misguided that even if the dumbass chimp committed lewd acts with a minor on the field during halftime at the superbowl, the brainless dipshits would come up with a way to justify it....."Well, at least he wasn't giving an intern a bj in his office like Clinton..."

These idiots could lose their jobs and their homes, be completely wiped out and begging in the streets - and they'd still support the Bush Crime Family.

5. I gotta admit...
A part of me is also curious as to how far some of the wingnuts would be willing to let this country fall. What would it take for them to see the truth?

11. I've got a Fred, too, let's call her Wilma. But Wilma wants to see
this happen not out of "morbid curiosity" but so that genuine change can come about. Wilma thinks that the degree to which this country succeeds (in terms of social and economic justice, equality, and success) may be in direct proportion to how bad thigns become in the immediately coming years.

13. No, I think Fred did a great job, just didn't
quite finish his thought! ;)

Seriously, I'm glad you posted this. I would have been afraid to do, but it's nice to be able to admit it.
