5. My email to Cafferty
hope he reads it on the air!!

I thought the speech was terrible - haven't we already given time and patience? After 2 1/2 years there's NOW a document, "Strategy for Victory"? If you've bothered to read it, it doesn't read at a level much more difficult than "My Pet Goat", the book he was reading when 9/11 occurred; it's more like "Strategy for Dummies".

He's had enough of our solidiers lives, our money, our time and our patience. Let's get 'em out soon - I don't think Murtha's idea is at all bad.

16. Thanks for posting the link
I didn't have it handy.

I read 3/4 of it this morning and couldn't believe the simpleton ideas and writing - I know 4th graders that write and comprehend at a higher level.

Read it and see yourself - I think it's an embarrassment to our government that they wasted trees for that effort.

23. It's bad enough that they treat it like a checklist
but if you notice, they've also put check marks next to a bunch of items, as if they had already been accomplished (such as they are.)

It looks like a book report a high school senior put together on the computer.

15. My e-mail:
Sorry, Jack, to me it was just more of the same. I'm frustrated because he's not listening to polls or the majority of the American people. We should no longer 'stay the course' and are so tired of seeing the daily body count of Americans and Iraqis. He, and by extension we, all have blood on our hands for getting involved in an unjustified war that doesn't appear to have any resolution.
I think a firm exit strategy and timetable needs to be established immediately and I could care less how that will effect his legacy.

18. Let's see what letters he picks
That will be telling. Begala just said he liked that bush said stay the course - no cut and run as it will only encourage the enemy, part of the speech. bush has made that very statement with every speech, what's with Begela, blind spot?

20. This is the REAL Jack Cafferty. He has said some entertaining things
in recent months, but he has always been to the right. Jack has had easy shots to take at this failing Republican party, but look how quickly he jumped at the chance to raise the sail on the USS Bush after todays speech.

Give me a break. He was criticizing Kerry for pointing out Bush only speaking at military bases. It's a fact Jack. John Kerry is right, the troops are not bound to his ideology, they are Americans, not partisan backdrops.

30. That's right -- it was the delivery he focused on. No one on TV...
news is going to support us 100% of the time -- and Jack hasn't had a good word for the other side in a long time.

26. Perhaps this was orchestrated?
I wonder if the Neo-con "talking points" were already distributed before His Royal Flatulence gave his speech. It seems from this thread and others on DU regarding the praise leveled at Bush by "journalists" and GOP members of Congress that this whole Iraq speech was orchestrated to give the Corporate Media something to crow about and possibly boosting Jr's sagging poll numbers.

It just seems too "lock step."

28. My email
Jack,

I can't believe you really think Bush was "terrific" today. The man can't even formulate a relevant argument. He said NOTHING new, only revisited his tired old 9/11 booga booga and "freedom is on the march" rhetoric. He seems to think that if he uses the word "freedom" enough, the 60-something percent of Americans who believe this war was a colossal mistake will suddenly change their minds.

What is most objectionable is that Mr. Bush is exploiting WWII in hopes of establishing in the public mind commonalities between this illegal war and that just cause, when in actuality his actions more closely resemble those of the man whose actions against which the U.S. fought in WWII. The Vietnam analogy may be a tired one, but it's much more representative of the current situation, whether Mr. Bush likes it or not.
