Rush on Iraq kidnappings: "There's a part of me that likes this."
Limbaugh on kidnapping of peace activists in Iraq: "I'm telling you, folks, there's a part of me that likes this"

On November 29, nationally syndicated radio host Rush Limbaugh read an Associated Press report about the apparent kidnapping of four Christian Peacemaker Teams (CPT) activists by an Iraqi insurgent group. Limbaugh announced that "part of me likes this." He explained: "Well, here's why I like it. I like any time a bunch of leftist feel-good hand-wringers are shown reality."

After suggesting that the story "could all be BS ... could all be a stunt," Limbaugh said, "We'll take it face value at first." Addressing the kidnapped CPT activists, Limbaugh said, "You've met the bad guys, and you tried your technique on them, and now you're blindfolded in a room with guns pointed at you and knives at your throat. I don't like that." He then added, "But any time a bunch of people that walk around with the head in the sand practicing a bunch of irresponsible, idiotic theory confront reality, I'm kind of happy about it, because I'm eager for people to see reality, change their minds, if necessary, and have things sized up."

LIMBAUGH: They wouldn't have been kidnapped because they wouldn't have been there in the first place if Bush hadn't gone and caused the war and created all these terrorists. I mean, these people are liberals, they're warped. Well, I mean, that's why there's -- I'm telling you, folks, there's a part of me that likes this. Probably, even with this, though, you know, they're not going to see the light of day. They're not going to -- I know, let them take me out of context. I don't care anymore.

If Bush hadn't gone and caused the war and created all these terrorists!?!?

Rush, did you just inadvertently TELL THE TRUTH? :wow:

5. I consider it a victory
when a peace activist is killed without leaving their principles. Its a statement of the power of the human spirit. Some of these activists are so strong that they are willing to die for the cause of peace, and that kind of strength and conviction to believe in something (in this case the example of christ, this activist was christian) is something that is beyond Rush. He can't concieve a life beyond the endless fear of protecting his own ass, and for that I feel sorry for him.

6. this line of thinking, everytime a soldier is blown up, are we suppose
to kinda like this, for the right to plant their feet in a reality that this war of incompetence is lost? is this what rush is suggesting to his listeners?

7. anyone know if Flush Rimbutt and Daryn Kagan (CNN) are still an item ?
just curious and I can't get an answer in the lounge. I hope she clued in, or, as I put it, did he run out of his Viagra, or is she still in need of an intervention ? It revolts me that a member of my generation waste herself on a sack of manure like that.

8. what context would he like to have that statement IN?
(with a tip of the hat to mr franken) the only possible context in which that statement would be considered morally right would be to preface it with "i'd have to be a murderous jackass to say..."
