Jon Stewart asked Pelosi why Bush wanted to go into Iraq
Edited on Thu Dec-01-05 01:32 AM by LSK
And she blew it. She totally fucking blew it. She could have gone into how war is profit for defense contractors. She could have talked about securing oil. She could have described PNAC in some detail. She just blew throught it with a brief mention of PNAC without telling what that is about.

Can someone please tell the sheeple that WAR = PROFIT??? Someone BESIDES Mike Malloy, Randi Rhodes and Michael Moore?

PLEASE SOMEONE GET SOME FUCKING BALLS ALREADY.

1. Too bad
Until the democrats have the guts to define the differences between the parties, they will remain the losers. Maybe Hillary and Lieberman contacted her.

2. I saw that and was disappointed but
she did mention the neocons and all that. So I do give her that credit. Maybe she doesn't want to come across as a "consperiacy theorist". She is a politician after all. I wish Jon would have on Seymore Hersh or Scott Ritter!

3. Exactly what I was thinking...
She dodged answering the question twice!
C'mon! Someone must have the guts to say it!

4. I don't think she really blew it
Had she gone off on defense contractors, she would have looked like a conspiracy theorist, the same way as if she had gone off on PNAC. The average person shuts down with that kind of stuff.
What she said is that Bush wanted this war, period. That is also true, and it throws the ball back in their camp for all the justifications that changed daily before the invasion-it makes it a lot more obvious that the justifications were faked.

6. if Americans are startng to ask why, we must give them the answer
Edited on Thu Dec-01-05 01:36 AM by LSK
If everyone is saying the same thing (the truth), then it cant be conspiracy anymore.

Duke Cunningham got caught getting rich from Defense Contractors. Its not a conspiracy theory, there is cold hard evidence.

11. That's true
and I think that we will start to see things coming out more often. In the meantime, a year ago it wasn't politically possible to say that Bush wanted the war "just because"-it's a slow process, but we are making progress. Patience, friend. It is changing.

15. I think so too
:) And I also was surprised she used the word neocon! Did she call Bush one or just "his neocon buddies"?

5. Its too force an ideology
They really are attempting to spread democracy, or capitalism disguised as democracy, all over the globe. That's the PNAC agenda. Anybody who thinks they're stealing oil or just having a war to make a bunch of money are very short-sighted and naive. They're goals are much much bigger than that. I didn't watch, but from what you're saying, she probably had it right on target.

9. she said the Neocons and PNAC, without telling anyone what that is
Clueless people would have learned nothing and are probably going WTF. Unless you are a political junkie, it was a non-answer.

18. If they were that curious, they would already know
that.

I have fought this battle with educated people for 3 years now... without success.

It is not easy.

20. Did she say "global domination"
or "democracy at gun point". Or mention the Bush Doctrine or pre-emptive wars. Those are the most important points.

Hello, I just saw your appearance on the Daily Show. Jon Stewart asked you why Bush wanted to invade Iraq. I feel that you should have gone more in depth in this answer. I wish you would have tried to explain that President Bush wanted the war because War = Profit. The Republicans repeatedly bring out the terrorist boogieman in order to conceal the fact that they are looting the National Treasury and US taxpayers with their defense contractor buddies. Our federal deficits have gone way out of control. There are reports of billions of dollars missing that were supposed to be spent in Iraq. Duke Cunningham had to resign because he got caught taking money from defense contractors. Bush wants to stay in Iraq indefinately because it means making lots of money off the American taxpayers. I wish you would not run from this. You have to find a way to educate the American citizens of this racket. Because thats all this is. Please do not fear using this. Explore this tactic. You and your fellow Democratic congressman and members of the Senate have the power to try to expose this racket to the American people and they are starting to wise up. Do not back down, do not take baby steps. Step up to the plate and expose Bush for what he is and rescue this country.

Others please write too: http://www.house.gov/pelosi/contact/contact.html

8. She mentioned PNAC, probably the biggest audience ....
.. that it's been mentioned to. It gets some people to look it up.

That's not blowing it. It's starting to spread it around.

21. Remember the old adage about a frog in boiling water...
Dump a frog in boiling water and he'll jump right out...

Dump a frog in cool water and slowly turn up the heat, he'll blissfully sit there fat, dumb and boiled alive....

We are dealing with Ribbit-licans here...

Not in the segment I saw...and what a shame. Neither of them mentioned Cunningham either. Maybe I missed it, and if it was mentioned, I stand corrected.
