and who the hell IS the enemy? who gives a damn what the enemy thinks anyway? and who cares if it sends a message to the troops? to me it's a good message, the war sucks and we want you to come home, that's the message i'm sending.

'cutting and running will send a bad message to our enemies'

we're not all third graders out here like the president.

1. the whole premise is inane.
first, most of the country still has little or no electrical power. Even in Baghdad, they have only 8 hours over the 24 hour day. Other areas are far worse. (but our MSM forgets to report this)
second, the so called "vibrant" news industry has no AP, UPI or Reuters connections, nor do they report on on US public opinion.
third, any news they have gotten from or by the US were planted stories from the US PsyOps groups who bribed the stories into their press.
fourth, your normal Iraqi is more concerned about being wrongly arrested and tortured by US troops, or being Shaked and Baked, or having some seccterian, religious or petro-political battle spill over onto his property and kill his family. They neither know nor care what we say here at DU, on Rush's radio program or on Faux Gnus.

2. cuttin' and running
It's easy for Bush to be brave when his family members are cavorting in the safety of the ranch and while the sons and daughters of working class families are getting blown up.
