Bush personally screwed up my commute yesterday!

After his cartoon speech in Annapolis yesterday, King George was wisked away to a political fundraiser in downtown Baltimore at M&T Bank Stadium (Ravens Stadium). Presumably he was coming in support of Lt. Gov. Michael Steele who is running for governor in '06. The trouble was, his handlers apparently felt it was too dangerous to allow the only southern Interstate entrance to Baltimore (I-395) to remain open as His Glorifulness approached. All traffic, including me, was diverted and forced to weave into the city on surface streets. Here's the rub though- he wasn't arriving by motorcade. He flew in on a Chinook. They closed an entire Interstate just because it runs within a mile of where they were landing his chopper for a private political fundraiser!

Must be pretty bad when a president can't risk leaving major roadways open within a mile of his helicopter landing...
