5. Because of gerrymandering it really doesn't matter
Most incumbants will get reelected and in fact Republicans stand a good chance of picking up some seats.... Public opinion is no longer a matter of importance to politicians. Remember in the words of Cheney "It doesn't matter what the polls say wait until the votes are counted."

8. Reminds me of another quote...
Now, let's see, what was it?

Oh, yes, now I remember!

"It's not he who casts the votes that matters--but he who counts the votes."
--Josef Stalin.

7. It's like I've been saying. Democrats don't have a message....
They don't know how to capitalize on the Republican's recent woes. George B*sh is a courageous hero for staying the course and what ever MSM spin that we have been force fed... :sarcasm:

BTW, I voted. :)

9. How about this, though:
Who would you vote for?

A Republican who believes in fiscal responsibility, who believes in a balanced budget, who is pro-family, who supports our troops, who wants to protect and defend America, and who believes in morality and integrity?

or

A godless commie Democrat, who dodged the draft, hates the troops, wants to raise taxes, believes in increased spending, and supports abortion on demand

Now who do you vote for?

Questions that ask about nameless candidates are meaningless. It indicates that people want a change.

But Nameless candidates can't be slandered.

Wait until you put names next to the D. Thats when the swiftboating begins.

12. The unorganized, weak-willed, and vague will lose, no matter the party aff
affiliation.

The Dems need to speak with one voice, a strong, confrontational voice...A TRUE opposition to the corporatist/imperial agenda, IMO.

17. Gosh, think I'll go shoot myself in the head!
Come on, do you people remember what it was like to hope? Try it, it's fun! If this poll is a true indication of peoples' sentiments, it is a good thing. Not a bad thing. Not a meaningless thing. Yes, there's gerrymandering to overcome. No, it's not the same as winning in the midterms. Yes, candidates will get swift boated. But I take it as a very hopeful sign.

The current House lineup is 232 Republicans & 202 Democrats. As time goes by, more House races against Republican incombents are seen as competitive. We only need to gain 16 seats to retake control of the House. That would be a real positive thing, wouldn't it?

I looked for a message string where we could share comments during the broadcast, but found none. Should have come back here.

Republicans are enthusiastic about changing the way redistricting is done in California, saying they want to take the authority out of the hands of politicians. I don't think I have ever heard them endorse such a change in Texas, have you? Heh heh.

92,000 is a small sample of the US voting population and I think these online polls have a democratic bias, because they are on the internet and on news sites. Honestly most republicans are elderly, rednecks or morans... not to stereotype or anything, but most of these types of people aren't reading internet news.

:popcorn: waiting to get flames for that post

28. I'm not going to flame you, LoKnLoD
I am particularly skeptical of live internet polls, for your stated reasons and for others. But the margin in this one is huge. Let's say the margin of error is as much as 20%, which is quite a bit. If you will grant me that, then the worst scenario would be:

Democrat = 61%

Republican = 35%

Not sure = Not significant

Another reason I got a little excited about this poll is that I've been watching developments in US House races, partly because I'm helping out in the Research Forum. I have noticed a trend in favor of Democratic challengers. A number of formerly 'safe' Republican incumbents are now seen as 'competitive' races.

Ed: I think I'll E-Mail that article to my appropriate elected officials to let them know the writing is on the wall.
