Ben Affleck rips into rightwing politics...

...wins People for the American Way Foundation award...

Ben Affleck is getting political.

He received the Spirit of Liberty award from the liberal People for the American Way Tuesday night (Oct. 14).

In his acceptance speech, Affleck, 31, attacked President Bush's "dangerous right-wing" policies, claiming they erode civil liberties, according to media sources.

He also discussed fellow celeb Arnold Schwarzenegger's recent election to the governorship in California, comparing what he called "the dawn of the Schwarzenegger era in American politics" to the decline of the Roman Empire.

Affleck was honored for his work on behalf of children's rights and voter registration.

Personally I think Ben's sex life is his own business. If he'd be a good politicain more power to him. I just hope the fundies don't drag his name through the mud over it.

I've watched Ben Affleck and he is very serious about politics. He is extremely intelligent and knows of what he speaks. He would do the Democratic party good and I definitely would support him.

I don't give a flyng fuck about his sex life and my origional post was meant to question the mindset of the public. Which then became a sort of game with another DUer. make your fucking judgments elsewhere, I'm not interested.

If she didn't, we take take a page from Ahnulds book, chalk it up to movie star behavior and all shall be forgiven, possibly even respected....hell he'll be a shoe in. Ahnuld only grabs women vagina's...Ben, it's claimed, licks them. That takes a bit of personal investment and a pinch of artistic panache, you gotta admit. No evidence he voted again until 2002 congressional elections.

During the 90s, he supported Clinton and campaigned for Hillary and Al Gore in 2000 - he actually traveled with Gore.
