Especially when some Dem politician says it!! I mean, would it KILL them to NOT do it????

They certainly had no trouble referring to PRESIDENT CLinton as "Clinton"!!!!

36. I always get pissed, too
Especially when he is refered to as "our" president. Certainly not based on the majority of votes.

I always imagine words preceeding the word president like "ex" or "former" or even better "disgraced", "impeached", "convicted", or "incredibly unpopular".

73. I agree
If I'm writing a letter to the editor or anything else where I have to refer to *, the simian fraud, I call him George W. Bush (no title) at the most. If not, "Shrub" or "Dubya" once I've already introduced him using his "proper" name; some folks still don't know who the nickname "Shrub" refers to.

8. Yes, but not only for the obvious reasons.. Can anyone recall...
many reporters/commentators, etc. referring to President Clinton? It was almost ALWAY "BILL CLINTON," or just "CLINTON."

And I know it was very, very intentional. Regardless of how they felt about Clinton (if they were so misguided as to think poorly), they still had a responsibility to respect the office to which HE WAS ELECTED!

Bush, on the otherhand, was clearly NOT elected, but I am happpy enough with the asterick, if they MUST give him the title when they speak of him.

Because to me it means "this nutcase..." "this unelected person." I know there might be disagreement with me on the meaning of this (in the past, we've had an entire thread on what "this" president means) but I feel it distinguishes him as an aberration.

23. actually
like the sheeple do now, the under/lower class romans LOVED caligula. It was the senators and the inteligencia that didn't like him. last year i started to read Caligula' bio. and the parallels were astounding.(could be found in archives of my blog-pansypoos-personal-rant-page@blogspot-also linked from Eschaton/counterspin-finished in april, so my comment regarding the parallel go back from there.).
most surprising was that Caligula fritted away a large surpluss as well.

that ill-gotten title. It's truly gut-wrenching. And I can't refer to him that way. He's always "bush" or "little king george" or "junior" or "shrub" or "Zippy the Pin-head" or "The First Dog Dropper." I cannot acknowledge him as president. I will not. And yes, it DOES make me cringe. And I have NOT gotten over it. I will never get over Selection 2000.

but I cannot abide being in earshot of him when he's on TV or radio. I just want to take a big knife and stab myself in the stomach. Then I lunge to turn him off. I also can't stand to see him in any presidential setting - White House, Marine 1, etc. And I can't even THINK about him as president when I'm in Washington. I refuse to even go to the monuments until he's gone.

please pass the grey poupon? Listen, catdragger, childhood traumas, such as mean kids repeatedly sticking your head in the toilet because they think you are a smug, self-satisfied asshole can be overcome with intensive psychotherapy. It will take some time, but if you start now you should be reasonably OK in 5 years if you stay on the medication.

I don't mean to insult your lack of intelligence, but....oh, what the FUCK, yes I do! Anyone that thinks that a proven lying murdering fascist hypocrite like the corporate whore enemy of Democracy that illegally resides in the White House is respectable can only be considered as emotionally disturbed, an uninformed, pitiful fool, or a deliberate enemy of freedom.

Take your pick.

63. I'm in a minority here I guess...no it doesn't.
Like it or not, whether or net he earned it, he is the President we have now, and that's not going to change until Jan 20th, 2005. The ONLY reason I say that is because Al Gore conceded the election...yes, I know the Supremes gave him little choice, but there really is no law that says he really HAD to concede. But he did, and once he did that, then Chimpy can claim the title.

I would also be a hypocrite if I didn't think this, because on other boards, I challenge any Repube to say, or type the word P-R-E-S-I-D-E-N-T in front of Clinton, for a free $5 Burger King gift certificate. After all, he ACTUALLY WON both of his elections and has earned the title. To this date, I still have a full book of gift certificates...They must be afraid if they do say it, they'd waste the money, and hurl up the whopper anyway.LOL!

74. I refer to him by the title he has truly earned:
The Squatter in President Gore's House.

77. Sure do
And I have ancestors on my father's side with the name Bush. My grandmother's maiden name was Bush. I cringe to think that maybe I could be related to our "great" (moron) president. My mother's side has bloodlines to the royal family in England. Hope Tony Blair's genes aren't in there.
