what they mean with a 'loan'?!?

Now, the congress wouldn't give up all those megabucks for 'reconstruction' to Iraq, they will give the money as a 'loan'???

so, let me get this straight; to whom they are loaning the money?
to the abstract name of "Iraq"?

:wtf:

2. it will come out of the measly check our oil companies hand them
It's absolutely grotesque. We go in there set up a puppet regime, hand over all the oil to American companies and then we will grab out whatever miserly sum they have to actually give to the Iraqi people another big handout to Haliburton and Bechtel for reconstructing what we blew apart.

3. I'm all for giving them 40 billion and leaving.
Sorry about the invasion but we made a mistake. Please accept our apologies and 40 billion for the trouble we have caused.

10. Welcome to DU, Sesquipedalian
Kind of like paying off the owner of the bar you busted up while on some drunken binge.

12. More like......
.....paying the bar owner to pay YOU to fix up the bar you trashed.

Most of this money will find its way into the pockets of US corporates.

5. It is a sad joke to...
loan money to the puppet government in Iraq.

It is a fig leaf for people who don't want to
come clean about funneling money into Bush's friends
pockets. People who want to pretend that the money is
for the Iraqi people.

8. yeah, but thats not new, what really worries me is.....

that they may use the income from Iraq oil to pay that debt, with a 20% percent? a 30% percent? I really dont get this; What does it mean that i loan myself? what exactly is the financial status of that debt?

Is there the possibility that Iraq will have to pay this debt? I dont know! where is the info? where are the public reports explaining us the damn and stupid taxpayers what the hell is going on with that?

11. It's all semantics.........we are having our pickets picked and the future
does not look sunny. This is the "DOWN" payment..more to come next year. The so called re-building (aka knows as rebuilding the bank accounts of your friends)will take 100 billion...so 20 down..80 to go.

Hell..we can afford it...we are working saps. I wonder how much we the people will take until we have had enough?
