1. crap
I COMPLETELY forgot there's a station in Baton Rouge! Used to be one in New Orleans, don't know if there still is...either way I gotta go program that into my AM stations in my car.

20. Baton Rouge...YEAH!
1380

f'sure, program it...

the only drawback, as far as I'm concerned
is that they do Ed Schultz all afternoon
and Randi only from 5 to 6
but I stream Randi anyway, if I'm home

3. Can't wait to they hit 100!
I just wish they would be able to turn a few more FM stations, as well.

I heard on Stephanie Miller's show that they hit a million listeners, too (while Rush continues to *lose* listeners)!

4. The more they predict AAR's Demise, the more it do Rise!
Just today one out local right wing radio hacks Mike Siegel here in Seattle got the axe!

9. I didn't even know Siegel was still around
He left KK-KVI years ago. Where's he been? On "The Lie", I'm guessing?

I'm not an AM 1090 listener, since I've got XM, but I noticed that 100.7 FM changed to a country station, so the fans of that station are going to be looking for a new talk radio "home" and I doubt most of them will be looking for the neocon shitbag programming of KK-KVI or that other dumbass station "The Lie".

17. He's been on AM-770
It's a right wing station that started up a couple of years ago - hosts Limbaugh. Since right wing radio is on the wane, the axe must fall.

18. Siegel? wasn't he the C to C guy?? After they ditched him, he landed
on a station on Long Island, mostly RW crapola.
Didn't he originally come from Seattle or somewhere out on the West Cost?

He was good on C to C, but really awful on the LI station...

5. I'm proud to say Portland was one of the FIRST and is still great
I mean, they are KICKING THE conservatives' ASS here in Portland. KXL which has O'Leilly and that human pile of shit, Savage....has been advertising a bunch on local TV and billboards because KPOJ surpassed them in the last period's ratings.

KPOJ is solid...and the test of local talk show hosts being syndicated for national programs seems to be working here.

I hope other more established stations will do the same where morning show is a local issues one (ours is THom Hartman) and then the rest is regular national AAR hosts. THis will build a good farm team of future hosts who can go national and SPREAD THE WORD even more effectively and have a superior product that will pass 100 affiliates and then 200 etc etc.

10. Recent ratings insider stuff on KPOJ vs. KXL
I stole this from a media geek board:
------------------------------------------------------

25-54 Mornings KPOJ went from a 3.7 to a 4.8 to rank 7th -

25-54 Mid-days KPOJ went from a 4.4 to a 5.2 to rank 5th ........ KXL were MIA

25-54 Afternoons KPOJ went from a 5.2 to 5.9 to rank 3rd -

So Big Eddie Schultz and Randi Rhodes are royally kicking KXL/Lars/Snow and Savage

12. damn, and still no fracking Hartford
One of the top 40 markets, a reliably blue city... and, the best we can do is listen on a broken up WLIB out of NYC or the even more broken up signal of the station out of New Haven that has a signal range that is measured in meters, not miles.

I'm sure we have our RWers around here, but most of our Republicans are fairly moderate - just like our Democrats.

14. Las Vegas: the shittiest radio market in the world.
Kabul probably has a wider selection, better stations, and a more liberal bent.
