Rep. Meehan Has NO Fear About the Word Manipulated in his Iraq TH Meeting!
Edited on Sat Dec-03-05 10:00 PM by leftchick
Unlike some Democrats who don't want to think about "re-writing history" I like the fact he is pointing out that the intelligence was flawed AND....MANIPULATED to fit a POLITICAL agenda! That is what every Democrat needs to be saying. If they can't say the L word Manipultaed is a pretty damn good second. Perhaps an even better word....

<snip>

Meehan voted for the war, but now said the intelligence was flawed and may have been manipulated.

"I think that really from the beginning, I think people have been concerned about the way the war was conducted. The inspectors should have been given more time. The fact is the intelligence was not accurate, but in some cases it was manipulated to fit a political agenda."

And in the handling of the war itself, he said, "there have been a lot of failures," including lack of troops and lack of sufficient protection for the troops.

"The bottom line is this war has been a mistake and the result is that our standing around the world has been jeopardized."

1. Problem with the L word
Is we're expecting it from Congresspeople. The House has rules that prohibit calling the President or Vice-President liars, and consequently, the habit of avoiding that word becomes ingrained

2. I seem to remember the L word a lot during the Clinton bullshit
Was that only from the TV mouthpieces?

3. The House On The Other Side Is On Fire. Give Me Your Ladder
I use your ladder to steal the neighbor's valuables. When I get caught, my excuse is that you lent me the ladder, so it is your fault.

So tell me again why people can't say 'I was lied to?'

Bush Lied. People Died. Media Cheered.
