In the grocery store, a woman bitching about Christ being taken out of

Christmas, how it's now "holiday" and how Jesus can't even be spoken of in school. She actually said, "I can't believe what this world is coming to." And on and on.

She was bitching to the clerk who was ringing her up. I was next in line and I started rolling my eyes my eyes like "oh not this crap."

Anyway, the clerk finished ringing the lady's groceries and then looks at her screen on the register and says, "M'am, you have a bounced check in our system and I can't let you write a check today."

The lady: Oh, that bounced check? I, umm, paid that.

The clerk: Sorry, it says here you haven't and it is still bounced.

Me (to myself): I am so telling DU about this when I get back to the computer!

Jesus: People should quit worrying about "holidays" and pay their bills. {Okay, I made this part up, but everything else is 100% true.}

I live in a very conservative red state and no one is making a big deal out of Merry Xmas or Happy Holidays. It is the spirit of the season that counts not the words.

This issue is a Faux produced histrionic non-issue.

The same words came out of my FIL's mouth last Sunday to which I replied they'd have a cow if they put up a Muslim display right next to it. A fine hypochristian is what you encountered. Too many people have nothing in their lives which is why the wingnuts on the media have a following.

When a person is loud, overly friendly, argumentative at the checkout, we always instructed our cashiers to be even more attentive as to what was going on. Many times under these type of circumstances, the customer would be trying to mask passing a bad check/credit card, counterfeit money, shoplifting, etc.

Loss prevention would always focus on these occurrences as the cashier would become distracted by the rudeness, conversation, whatever, and would hurry trying to get the loudmouth out the door, which is exactly what they want to accomplish.

You would be surprised how much this happens in any retail environment.

That makes perfect sense because this woman was being so loud and obnoxious about the whole topic (which is alread an obnoxious topic to being with).

She was hoping the clerk would miss the red flag on her register's screen about the bounced check.

Check bouncers know what they're doing. If they can't get away with it inone store, they go to the next and try it. Wonder if she pulled out an over the limit credit card to pay for her stuff.

I worked in the credit business and you would not believe how many folks said God would pay their bills. Wonder if this lady tried that with the cashier?

RIGHT NOW to worry about then if it's "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays" or Seasons Greetings" or whatever label one cares to put on December 25th! :eyes: What petty crap! :banghead: She can't believe what this world is coming too? ONE PERSON ... who has been forced to change the way they celebrate the holiday because of this so-called "War on Christmas?" Are they not allowed to decorate or put up trees? Can they not buy and give gifts? Has the singing of carols been outlawed? Has anyone stopped them from going to church? Somehow, I doubt it. :eyes:

These idiots get all riled up because a cashier said "Happy Holidays" and some people in their community wanted Town Hall to display a Menorah along with the Christmas tree!
