Poll question: Who does this paragraph refer to?

He was born of a virgin, with only a number of shepherds present and was known as "the way," "the Truth," "the Light," "the Life," "the Word," "the Son of God" and "the Good Shepherd." He was pictured carrying a lamb on his shoulders. On December 25th, there were magnificant celebrations with bells, candles, gifts, hymns; and "communion" was observed by the followers.

Mithras

It was written by William Edelen. It could be about both figures however.

5. Yup. Mithra, a savior god-man who predates christ by a millenia

and whose life story is almost identical. The story of christs birth, ministry, death and resurrection is totally allegorical and NOT historical, just like Mithra, Horus, Set, Krishna and the dozens of other savior gods that litter history.

They just did a better job of promoting the christ myth than the others.
