Fantastic movie - but now I have insomnia because of how f'd up life really is. Okay, I have insomnia every single night but still ... this is one great movie - probably the best I've seen this year.

3. I was reading some article online about a week ago and it said that it
would be opening in LA and NY and then MAYBE nationwide depending on how it did. Well we bought tickets to the 7:15 show early - then went to dinner and by 7pm when we got there - there wasn't even one seat left in the theatre, we had to leave and go to the 8:15 show and it was also PACKED. I think since all the shows are sold out they know now that they will release it everywhere because there is a big buzz about it. I hope it does as well in every state that it appears to be doing here (in Los Angeles)

2. Yeah, only select locations till the 9th. But tell more!
I heard the plot was a little overly complex, and the characters remained a little shallow...But this may have been repug critics. You thought it was good? Did you learn anything about the state of affairs?

4. *Spoilers* but not many because I don't like to spoil things for others
Yes, it was complex - Overly? I don't know about that. I think everything was in that movie because it all tied together in the end. Shallow characters ... there were so many characters in the movie that it was probably difficult for them to let you get to know any of them deeply. Usually a movie is about 2 or 3 characters and with character development, you get to know them really well (and then care about them). This was not possible in this movie because alot of the 'characters' were covert agents or there was a reason for you not to know them well, so thier wasn't the basic character development you see in most movies. I don't know that I learned anything about 'the state of affairs' that I didn't already know, but yes, so much was 'implied' about texas oil fuckers vs the beautiful people that want to make a difference. Guess what, we lost - like I said, REAL LIFE

5. awesome!!
Sounds like a good one to see. I'm always excited about these good movies, not because I will learn anything, but because the message is being made immortal and being put before joe public!

7. Wow!! What's up with that??
I don't believe the "joe public" quote was directed at you. I think the poster meant people who aren't always aware of what is going on in the world. You are obviously someone who cares and keeps up on things -- not everyone is like that.

Higher class than you?? Where did that come from? My DU must be broken because I think I'm only getting half of what is written.

8. You misunderstood the poster. All he said was he's glad that
the facts are presented to the public.

9. "aggresive"
Holy cow, you really missed on that post.

Just to let you know, here on DU we DO NOT tell each other to "Go fuck yourself", especially over an innocent comment like you responded to.

10. I'd LOVE To, But
I STILL didn't get to see "Good Night And Good Luck." Seems like that was banned in the northern half of Wisconsin. I've written LTTEs, but never get published (I have before - regarding F-911). I'll be surprised if they show Syriana. Once these movies win Oscars, this part of my state, and the theaters in it will look pretty dumb. At least I got to see "Walk The Line." I'm surprised they showed that - Johnny Cash was p;ractically the lone anti-war (Vietnam) voice in country at the time.
