Should government own land and what would be a proper percentage?
One GOP issue which I am ambivalent about is whether or not public land should be locked up by government ownership or sold to the public. I recognize that certain natural treasures must be protected but in say, Alaska for instance, the governments own over 85% of all the land. I am sure every state has land locked up for a reason but in a lot it seems like an unreasonable amount.

1. public land is not "locked up"
that is a GOP/"Wise Use" term. If public lands, like BLM land, Nat'l Forest, etc. were to be sold off, THEN it would be locked up, complete with barb wire & private property/no tresspassing signs.

2. "Public Ownership"
We the people own public lands.

Not the Bush administration, not corporations. We the people.

Doesn't seem as bad when you phrase it that way.
