The American Government is keeping this war hidden because it is hideous. To allow people to see this reality - the shattered bodies, the wounded children, the incomprehensible mayhem is to risk eroding popular support for it.
This is particularly true with wars that have less than overwhelming popular support to begin with.
In the case of Vietnam, battlefield images played an important role in turning the tide of public opinion.
And in Iraq, a war whose official justification has turned out to be false, and which a majority of the American people now believe to have been a mistake, the administration would prefer that these grim videos never be seen.
These clips below are not bloody but they are brutal. They show what your soldiers... your friends of friends... everyone is connected to someone who knows someone that was or is in this country fighting for nefarious reasons, for a corporate elite... an imperialistic, and unjust unilateral invasion of a country that had nothing to do with the trigger events of 9-11.
The controversial (alleged) al-Jazeera video of ten US soldiers being killed IS ONLINE - the one that the Pentagon is denying is the correct version of the event.
http://media.putfile.com/Bareknucklepoliticscom-IED-Kills-10-US-Soldiers-In-FallujahAnd below... Is this another deadly video which has 'not' been talked about by the Pentagon either? This one is particularly nasty as they wait for rescue teams to arrive before setting of the second explosion.

Time to get out.
3 attacks shown in AL-Jazeera TV yesterday (video)
These 3 attacks al jazeera showed on their news program yesterday
The 1st is about the 10 marines in fallujah by IAI
The 2nd is a logoless group there name is Mujahedeen of Tal'far
The 3rd is very strong attack against hummer in Ramadi it shows IED then the hummer. This was by the insurgent group known as the 1920's battalions, who are Shiites modelling themselves after the uprising against the British troops in the 1920's.
These links come from intelligence analysis forums.
So you got Shiites who are supposed to be 'tamed' by the US, who are financed and aligned with Iran - picking off and bombing US troops. You have Sunnis using IED's against US troops in the Triangle in retaliation for Fallujah. The only one's sitting back are the Kurds who are allegely cutting deals with Israel which is pissing off Turkey.
What a fucking nightmare.

Iraq
You drain the words out of my famished mouth
when you scream,
a sun-drenched cry of dripping dates and palm-green nostalgia.
You, a thought in the womb before birth,
And all the lines of crimson of afterlife,
a bosom of Tigress-scented compassion,
thrown across a desert of aimless caravans.
You, a wan wanderer, in the pages of my history...
Did you know that,
your rains washed away my name,
minutes after baptism,
tattooed tomorrow's memories for eternity...?
But then you turned your face east...
away from me...
Do you recognize me? ...
I am the homeless child that seeks your amputated arms for refuge,
a beggar of identity amidst your grains of blood-drenched sands.
Why have you lost me
when I had hung on to the trains of your abbai,
through all the wars,
all the sores...?
Left my minarets of war-torn memories to crumble into oblivion...
my faith in humankind disemboweled.
You are the truth
-if it ever existed,
belief, when it is all I know.
I know you now
like I know God.
For you are the entity they forbade,
the remnants of the game they played,
the devastated I...
For my beloved Iraq...
