Wolf Blitzer is annoyed that Iraqis haven't thanked us for invading.

Anyone else see Wolf Blitzer's show this morning? I saw him ask three people- Biden, that moron Republican senator who looks like Howdy Doody, and a representative of the Iraqi "government" why there hasn't been some expression of appreciation to the US for all it's done in liberating them from Hussein. He repeatedly asked it and he actually seemed annoyed, like they were ungrateful. In fact, I think he even used the word "ungrateful", in the form of a question, like- "does this seem ungrateful...?"

More and more like Vietnam, eh?

I agree. Why shouldn't the Iraqis be grateful for suicide bombers and general lawlessness that kill dozens of people every day. For gasoline shortages, and less electricity than they had before the war, for less clean water, and more malnourished children, for random bombings and shootings, and house breakins, and arrests, for torture in U.S. run prisons? Yes, the Iraqis have alot to be grateful to us for, and I just can't understand why this would be.

They had a poor opinion of us before we even got there the second time. Maybe Wolf doesn't remember how we slaughtered their retreating troops in the first Gulf war, but I bet they remember.

People also seem to forget that even before the second war, the sanctions that were imposed on Iraq after the first Gulf war killed about half a million Iraqi people, mainly children. All before Shock and Awe, which caused so many funerals that there were no flowers left over for our troops when they got there.
