My "Man of the Year." The Forgotten American!
Why aren't we starting to see candidates looking to make a name for themselves by speaking in Des Moines, Chicago, Atlanta..you know, the rest of the country outside the beltway?

There is some weirdness in these times that does not smell right.

Can't figure it out yet.

Maybe too many fighting for the same bone.

Neocons, Moonies, RW, left wing, moderates, globalists, corporatists, theocrats, Christian fundy's, Jews, Muslims, greenies, pro-life, pro-choice, pro-labor, pro-business, all leading to information over load for the average person: the forgotten American.

Other than the internet we are forgotten. Other than forums and blogs no one speaks to us, no one interviews us, candidates and politicians of any stripe do not come to us.

If you are a think tank or a big donor group, get your tux out and sit for din din while the pols come and pitch you.

We have been out sourced, ignored, polled but irrelevant, and no one has told us yet!

Do you all realize that there are nearly 50,000 Americans maimed, wounded or disabled from Iraq already? Rivaling the Viet Nam wall in number!

Is it me or does it seem like the average American no longer counts?

2. Good post, and I agree with the sentiment,
but is this anything new? Has the average American ever counted to D.C. other than on election day?

3. The forgotten Americans would be perfect.
The people abandoned following Katrina, the invisible poor, the struggling middle class, those without health care. Frankly, the soldiers in Iraq as well sent over without adequate equipment and paying a price the rest of America doesn't have to pay and to easily forgets because its no one they know.

4. We hear more about Baghdad than we do about Detroit.
I'm just saying that is nutty.

Not sure if they ever cared about us, maybe in the 60's when people took to the streets??

6. Good question. if there was a new world order conspiracy
at least they could do a better job with the, "new world order."

This is a lot like old world chaos.
