Bush Will Delay Tax Reform Push

Bush Will Delay Tax Reform Push
White House aides tell Time magazine that President Bush "is likely to postpone any big push for comprehensive tax reform -- which looked like it would be a centerpiece of next year’s agenda -- until ’07 or ’08... The official White House stance is that Bush has not decided whether to pursue the idea next year, but aides say they doubt they could attract Democratic support in a midterm-election year."

1. read that they don't want another thing to hold against them
Can you imagine if they tried to bring in tax reform after their bankruptsy law, deficit, and disaster in Iraq? Some repukes got to Bush and said, "No way do we want this on the agenda when we have to try and get elected!"

4. Reform my tail. It will be a radical transfer of wealth to the rich.
Just like he has done already. Just like he did with his work to "privatize" (read: end) Social Security. Shrub and his minions believe that wealth determines merit. And merit means they support Shrub and his minions. This ticks me off. Take back the House and Senate in 2006, or Look Out!

5. Campaign message from the Dems should be that this crap
was postponed until after the election year at which time these guys are going to set out to take your last few remaining deductions away from you. They need to take that R plan and dissect it bit by bit, put it in plain speak, and tell the people what new ring of hell is being planned for them. Will the Dems do that? Probably not. They'll be too busy finding ways to support the war while giving lip service to peace.

7. Speaking of "permanent",
does anyone know when these "temporary" tax cuts for the rich are due to EXPIRE? If he's not going to touch the tax reform before '06 , the Dems shouldn't allow the cuts to become permanent! Even if it takes a FILIBUSTER!! Can someone give me specifics on this? Please ?
