Done Xmas shopping lots of parking spaces at the mall and Target
While Bush's economy is doing soooo well, it was funny that on a Sunday afternoon with the temps in the 50s in Virginia, I had no problems getting a good parking spot at Target and then I stopped for a late lunch and looked over to the sea of empty parking spots at the main mall in Roanoke, Va.

I can remember years when no matter what time you went to the mall, it was a chore to get a parking spot and normally you had to walk a distances.

Isn't the Bush economy great :sarcasm:

1. I noticed the same thing yesterday
At the largest mall between Minneapolis and Denver. Normally the street in front of the mall would be bumper to bumper on a December weekend. Instead, there was just normal traffic. The mall parking lot was only about 2/3 full.

2. The Target store here is HELL during the entire month of December
All the bright red color is really appropriate. It doesn't matter if they open at 5:00 AM and close at 11:00 or even open 24 hours a day, which they have done before within a week or so of Commercialmas®

But, if forced to, I'll still go there before the mall :scared:

3. I was at the mall in Texarkana yesterday
And I parked about 3 rows away from the main entrance at 3 in the afternoon in 80 degree weather.
I went in several stores and didn't see many people with large purchases.
I took my granddaughter for her Santa Claus picture--talk about a ripoff.
Cheapest pic was $16.99. I almost felt guilty being relieved when the fat guy in the red suit terrified her and we couldn't get one.
Last year the same pic was $4.00.

4. $17.00 What a rip off...
That's something to do only if they bring it up in the future...

5. It was the same this weekend in Richmond, VA. Weather good,
parking lots not anywhere near full at the malls. Let's hope the commercialism is taking a hit this season.
