War on Christmas Email...
I just received this email and wanted to share it.

Please pass this on if you agree...
On the way home last night I was listening to WSIX when Slam Duncan called his little 91 year old granny to talk to her about the "Holidays". He mentioned that he had noticed that Christmas has become so "politically correct" that no mention of Christmas is made by most retailers, we now wish people "Happy Holidays."
His granny said she missed the Old Fashioned Christmas when everyone wished each
other "Merry Christmas". I thought about it and agree...so this year I will be making
a conscious effort to wish everyone Merry Christmas...my way of saying that I am celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. So I'm asking my email buddies, if you agree with me, to please do the same. And if you'll pass this on to your email buddies, and so on...maybe we can prevent one more American tradition from being lost in the sea of "Political Correctness." God Bless and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

To which I sent this message to all recipients.

Ya know - there's a really OLD "christmas" carol by Bing Crosby of all people...called - get ready - OMG - Happy Holidays. Doesn't it make sense when you consider all the holidays in December that someone might just say happy holidays, instead of merry christmas, happy new year, etc.? Do you REALLY think anyone has a "problem" with christmas - especially when the stores are all decorated for christmas the day after halloween (which- BTW is also under fire by the religious kooks who started this "war on christmas" BS, for being "satanic").
Happy Holidays to All!

2. hahaha.... next up:
St. Valentine's day. From now on, it will be called "I like you a lot Day" so as not to offend those without significant others and to make it less Christian.

3. Christians want the holiday to be all theirs
and to eliminate other ethnic traditions from the least bit of inclusion or acknowledgement.

In other words, it's just more "my way or the highway" bullshit from the worst bigots this country has ever known.

4. Agree completely.
My problem with "Merry Christmas" is that it ain't Christmas yet.
It's the holiday season. On Dec 25, it will be Christmas.
Oh, and my birthday is in April, so if anyone wants to start wishing me a Happy Birthday in February, please don't.

5. i just got sent to like 2 conservative, bigoted cartoons
when i was browsing CrooksandLiars today. It was out of this world, i should know not to click on something with no description or has the phrase "All you fuckers need to click on this right now." I mean, it just sounds like a Freeptard 15 year old, with a touch of sour brat. But i clicked them anyway, and i can't believe this. Where the fuck did this come from other than from the perverted 'satire' that is oLielly. Where? Why is all the world in an upheaval over this. Times change, dialect evolves:

Happy Holidays everyone.

is this a regular cartoon. i dont know anything about it but something about it really put me off, i def. couldn't finish it. What's happening?

Translation: i'm not gonna stop talking about this Christian culture clash hype until everyone else does. :sarcasm:

But im not being sarcastic about this cartoon.... its horrible.

7. What crap
This is one phase of the war by the religious right on the suggestion that one can be a Liberal and a Christian without betraying either.

That ought to confuse him/her/it for awhile.

11. I would ask them if they like being part of a phony political campaign
ask them, does it make your Christmas more enjoyable to let right wing pundits turn the holiday into another cheap culture war?

Do you realize that none of these pundits believes any of this inane garbage they're selling, that it's totally bogus and they are playing you for suckers?

14. um...and this just adds to the nastiness. . .

From the American Heritage Dictionary:

HOLIDAY:

NOUN: 1. A day free from work that one may spend at leisure, especially a day on which custom or the law dictates a halting of general business activity to commemorate or celebrate a particular event. 2. A religious feast day; a holy day. 3. Chiefly British A vacation. Often used in the phrase on holiday.
INTRANSITIVE VERB: Inflected forms: holi·dayed, holi·day·ing, holi·days
Chiefly British To pass a holiday or vacation.
ETYMOLOGY: Middle English holidai, holy day, from Old English hlig dæg : hlig, holy; see holy + dæg, day; see day.

Gee. . .no wonder the American Taliban is so upset. The idea of saying "holy day" must somehow persecute their real celebration of Christmas.

17. OMG! I just saw a television commercial about mailing packages
and the main character was delivering holiday goodies to neighbors/friends...and every time they opened the door she said "Happy Holidays"...then people were dumping "holiday" packages on her to take to the post office....

Yep...it was a United States Post Office commercial.

:applause:
