If you could ask the 9 Demo candidates one question what would it be?
I was thinking about all those lucky people that have the chance to ask the candidates a question on National Television.

If you got that one in a million shot of asking the candidates a question what would it be?

Here is what I would ask:

"When one of you becomes President, will you promise America here and now that you will launch a full investigation into the crimes committed by the Bush Administration and make those responsible do the time that all other Americans would have serve committing the same crimes?"

2. I would ask what they would do with the people in Guantanamo

The candidates have been intriguingly silent on this issue, despite the fact that it is an issue that impacts so directly on national security and the safety of Americans.

Awesome question!

You hit the nail on the head there. I'd love to hear what the candidates would say. It's political dynamite so we'll probably here something like, "We would examine them on a case-by-case basis."

4. Was covert mining of Nicaraguan harbors in 1984 an act of terrorism?
Why or why not?

What is the precise difference between a "freedom fighter" engaging "soft targets", as the Contras often did, and a "terrorist" attacking "soft targets"?

If the USA supports and trains people to engage in acts which are indistinguishable in practice from those of known terrorist organizations and human rights abusers, why aren't we carpet bombing Fort Benning?

Will you allow the release of the Reagan presidential papers upon taking office?

my question would be

"if there is a problem witht the election will you fold like the coward Gore?"

follow up question:

"are you willing to die fighting for democracy?"

the gore thing is MY opinion. I may be a "democrat" but I am no partisan!

flame if you must.

9. My Question would be about THIS crime against humanity
Radioactive effluents and emissions (that is: fallout) from nuclear power plants, military facilities, testing of nuclear weapons and the use of depleted uranium has been estinated by scientists in Europe to be causing tens of millions of deaths and spontaneous abortions, infant mortality increases, and the mutations of genes and bacterias and viruses causing mutliple health issues ncluding cancer, new strains of pneumonia and other virulent diseases on a global basis.

Are YOU willing to close down commercial nuclear plants and military/research facilities that are killing children and damaging our global gene pool and commit America to an energy and conservation program that will rebuild the infrastructure of our nation, provide jobs And make us no longer dependent on monopolized resources like oil and uranium controlled by the monopolistic petrochemical and nuclear industries such as Halliburton, Carlyle, and Exxon???

11. Do you now and have you ever...
Vote for Repuglicans or support Repuglican policies? If yes, why do you think The Democratic community should support you?

That would eliminate Dean, Clark, Kerry and Lieberman in one fell swoop. I can hear the hedging and prevarications already...

12. And Edwards, Kucinich, and Gephardt. Then Sharpton or Braun would
get the nod. Gee, who are you working for? Almost all Democrats and Republicans have voted the same on at least one issue or another. Democrats and Repugs are not exact opposites on everything and anything. Hell, even Hitler believed in supporting schools and eliminating Child molesters. DO you? Or are you more about just getting your name out there. One Second thought, why don't you just write yourself on the ballot.

38. Not working for you
If you want to accept another half-assed Dem candidate, look forward to another four years of Repug governance. That seems pretty clear to me.

Even winning wasn't enough to keep the Repugs out of the White House in 2000, with less than half of the elegible voters bothering to show up at the polls. And look what a stunning victory we were led to in 2002 by these same great thinkers.

Dennis Kucinich may have voted with the repugs over abortion, but then again he's a Catholic. He also voted for measures to make abortion unnecessary, like making contraception and sex education available. He's also the only Democratic candidate who stood up against the Patriot Act and the Iraq War Resolution, and led others in congress to follow his lead AWAY from war. He's the only Dem candidate who has a plan ready to get our troops out of Iraq now, and get the UN in.

Dennis Kucinich is the only candidate who has my vote unreservedly, and he's also waking a lot of folks up to what they once believed this country could be. Dean, Clark, Lieberman, and to a lesser extent Kerry and Edwards all offer reasons to me to stay home, which I would do if I weren't as concerned as I am with the direction this country is heading.

45. You should go Green!
Kucinich is a Green Party Candidate. He travels with Nader to lots of events.

You must also remember that Kucinich was for the Flag burning amendment. Not very Democrat.

Let us also mention that he is for the removal of all Troops in Iraq. This would lead to a civil war and a massive blood bath in the country.

May I add that Kucinich doesn't stand a chance of winning in 2004.

13. I'd ask each candidate a sperate question...
Clark: Why did you call the evil fools in the Bush administration your friends?

Kerry: Knowing all you know now, and with the advantage of hindsight, would you have voted for iWR?

Dean: Why aren't you willing to cut military spending?

Gephardt: Why did you support IWR, when so many Democrats in the House voted against it?

Kucinich: Why did you suppor tthe flag-burning amendment, and have you changed your mind?

Lieberman: Why do you still proudly support IWR, and why do you defend it?

Braun: You're progressive on so many other issues; why don't you stand up for a viable Palestinian state, and attack isareli oppression?

Sharpton: Why do you say so little about your policies during the debate?

Edwrads: Why do you still defend the vile, unjustified, and fraudulent campaign against innocent Iraqis that Bush has run and is running?

You've backed them all into a corner ('cept Edwards & Sharpton who can easily respond IMO).

I'd throw 'em some softballs myself to make 'em look good, but I'm glad you're on our side.

My question: What will you do to reform the corporate influence in policymaking and campaign contributions?

53. What a nice idea...
Edited on Sat Oct-18-03 02:19 PM by burr
Kerry: would your payroll taxcut reduce the amount of Social Security credits each worker can build up within a fixed period of time to become eligible for benefits in that program?

Lieberman: would you support cutting off U.S. funding for Israel's nuclear weapons program? Would you also vote to cut off foreign aid to Syria?

Edwards: would you be willing to raise cigarette taxes to help fund universal healthcare for kids?

Sharpton: would you support a constitutional amendment to allow for national recalls of the Congress and the President on any year, why or why not?

Gephardt: What would your healthcare proposal do to stop insurance companies from discriminating against those with pre-existing conditions, to require them to provide community rated premiums, and to outlaw discrimination based on genetic data?

Braun: What is your position on H.R. 1554?

Kucinich: Would you support a complete repeal of ban on stem cell research that you helped to put in place, why or why not?

Clark: Would you support the repeal of all the shrub taxcuts to fund your proposals and reduce the deficit, why or why not?

Dean: Would you move to abolish the department of homeland defense, why do we need it if we already have a Central Intelligence Agency, the FBI, and a Defense budget larger than all the other nations on Earth combined?

If I could not ask individual questions, this is what I would ask of them all...

Do any of you support a plank in the "Democratic Party" platform embracing a constitutional amendment to abolish the electoral college?
If you do, what other such reforms would you support? If you don't, why not?

I'm sorry you're not getting any action but I think they're a little busy running their campaigns right now.

Maybe that's exactly what you need, someone to suck your dick. It would probably give you a much better outlook on life. Maybe you actually NEED to get a life instead of spewing hatred on an Internet forum.

Funny, I've never felt remotely moved to visit your sites and post venom over there. I guess when you're secure in your positions, you don't feel the need to attack.

17. BOXERS OR BRIEFS ?
actually, i would ask them on issues such as abortion, gun control, environmental standards, confederate flag on state property, gay rights, drug legalization (especially marijuana) and some other things, when they consider them to be a states rights issue or a federal issue. why and when they consider things to be a state or federal matter, and what are the standards for whether it's a state or federal matter. a long question, but i think it helps to get an answer on more than one specific point from them. and gives us a wider knowledge of their political philosophy.
