DU approaching 20 million posts-what to give the board that has everything
Okay, so I have no life and spend my time looking at the little counter up in the top-right corner of the screen ;-)

Still, 20,000,000 posts since January 2001 is nothing to sneeze at. We're not -quite- there yet, but given the traffic, I expect to see that clicked off before 2006.

So, what do we get the board that has everything? certainly there should be a celebration of modest means and erudite good-will (translation: Party On, Dudes and Dudettes!! BYOIntoxicants)

But I'm a newbie, not even 500 articles yet. You good folks who have been around longer must have a clue what we can do for the good people at DU (rhyming only semi-intentional).

Let the party planning begin :-)

By this time in 2006 I expect they'll be well over 30 million, and by this time 2008 I'd be surprised if DU had less than 60 million posts.

16. I've been meaning to ask about that...
...thus far I've refrained from donating because, being Canadian, I felt it wrong of me to contribute to a foreign political advocacy group. I willingly share my thoughts in the hopes it helps democrats re-take the government, but that falls under correspondence.

I'm willing to consider other views on this.

I suspect we could start a party the day we get within a thousand or two, and keep it going till we hit the magic number.

18. In august when I signed on there were, I believe 73,501 members

19. About 20 days left...
There were about 6000 articles last night. Guesstimating 10000 a day, that's about 20 days till 20M.

I may have been a tad early, but at least I've got a few people thinking about it.
