Still bitching?
Seems like all the Democrats do is bitch. Do any of them actually have a plan to fix the mess that * created?

If so, let's hear it.

2. "Well, we could set some timetables that outline what exactly
our goals are in Iraq, when they can be accomplished, what resources we will need to meet these goals, and then use that data to set up a plan for the gradual withdrawal of troops."

COWARDS CUT AND RUN!!!!! STAY THE COURSE!!!!!!!!!

3. Who wants to bet that the minute some Dems start offering up a plan
the Repugs instant talking point will be, "Look at those tax-and-spend Democrats -- trying to grow government again!"?

Interesting
What you should really say is "I haven't bothered to figure out what Democrats are saying because I'm lazy, so could you please spoonfeed me some of the proposals that Democrats have put forward."

Sorry I left my baby spoon at home this morning.

8. It's easier to bitch about bitching I guess
But all that does is further divide the party, and in the long run, that's what the Repugs want. It's been one of their talking points all along that Dems can't offer up anything real and they only bitch.

Pity we fall for their talking points too.

5. I've been hearing lots of suggestions, where you been?
My favorite is an immediate withdrawal to "quick strike" range just outside Iraq's border.

The Iraqi factions are going to duke it out no matter what we do and it is their right and no one has the right to stop them, so we get out of their way but keep an eye on things just in case.

15. Hear, hear Grannie! We are the Opposition Party, it is our duty to OPPOSE
Too many forget that. We are protecting the minority from the tyranny of the majority.

The other side knows this, but it is just another disingenuous attempt at criticizing us as "the party of 'no'", "no ideas", etc.

I was so PROUD that dems didn't fall for this old trick during the proposed Soc Sec debacle.
My favorite line: "We DO have a plan - it's called SOCIAL SECURITY." !:toast:

Don't fall for this age-old trap folks.

9. It's impossible
to undo the mess that * created. Gonna have to stay the course I'm afraid, leaving Iraq now is too risky for the region and beyond.

10. You're Really Out For Blood...ROFL
Seems like the "Discussion" part of this site no longer is operative. I think this forum should be renamed "Bughouse Square"...people standing on their soap boxes ranting...all with a bitch and no one bothering to listen to what the other has to say.

For a long time this place has been an incubator for the frustrated and the aggitators. Want a serious discussion of issues? I'd strongly suggest checking out a smaller Discussion forum...DU has long since failed to be a real place to Discuss rather than the national left and progressive online water cooler.

11. Multinational coalition, cooperation. world court.
The US refusal to cede control of Iraq to a multi-national rebuilding effort is the biggest ammunition the resistance needs to the occupation. To them, it is evidence the US wants Iraq for themselves.

A plan?

Create a true multi-national authority and cede control immediately. Give the multi-national authority control over oil exports.

Open the accounting so Iraq can see where the rebuilding dollars are going.

Stop the US patrols that only draw fire.

Turn Saddam over to the Hague.

Those are the steps needed to build trust in a new Iraq government.
