HE'S BAAAAAAACK! (Mike Malloy)

Victory! Victory! is our cry! V-I-C-T-O-R-Y! Remember that? High school pep rallies; Friday night football games; cheerleaders whipping the stadium crowd into a temporary frenzy. It was great stuff back in the day when we were innocent kids, willing and enthusiastic participants in false bravado, the we're-gonna-win-no-matter-what attitude necessary to children's games and team sports and Friday night fevers.

However, the Bush Crime Family has begun a campaign not dissimilar to the juvenile hoo-rah of long ago teenage sports events in order to salvage and resell its continuing campaign of death, dismemberment, and destruction in Iraq. The new campaign is as simple as the metered cadences of team cheers: Victory is ours if only we whoop and applaud and stomp our feet and demand more war.

And the head cheerleader for this further debasement of US political leadership under George W. Bush is one Peter Feaver, a man who works with polls; a man who is a college professor; an expert on war even though he's never been in one. A Google search of his name turns up even more. Mr. Feaver is clearly a great believer in war and an expert on how to manipulate public opinion into support for war no matter the legitimacy of a particular conflict. Now, that's truly someone the Bush Crime Family wants on the team. According to Peter Feaver, Americans will accept a war with high casualties if someone tells them that the war will eventually be won. Hence the recent addition in Bush's speeches: "We will honor the fallen by staying the course and finishing what we've started." (Victory! Victory! is our cry! V-I-C-T-O-R-Y!! Yay! Go team!)

The legitimacy of the war? No matter. The truth of the casus belli? Immaterial. The respect for international law regarding the conduct of the war? No one cares. What is truly important to Mr. Feaver, Bush, and the political criminals who have involved the US in this horrific and continuing violation of the few remaining shards of human decency, as practiced by the Bush Crime Family, is to continue the lies, continue the chants of "victory is coming, lord, it is," continue the deceptions and continue sending US soldiers and Iraqi civilians to their deaths cuz, by god, we're going to win!
