I am so f*^ing tired of hearing "they want to attack us"
Randi is playing segments from Meet the Press with Kean and his partner (drawing a blank) continuously proclaiming "they want to attack us," "they want to kill Americans," "God help us if they attack again," blah blah blah. I am so sick of hearing this stuff. Yes, it would be bad. But more Americans die every year in car accidents. More Americans die every year from guns. More Americans die every year from heart disease.

It just seems to me that the fear-mongering over this seriously outweighes the potential risks to America, and it's really wearing on me. I can't wait until we have competent people in office so we can stop hearing "be afraid, be very afraid." I'm sick of it. </rant>

2. i think bush was re-elected on this premise. he kept saying that
he kept us safe. that's crap. terrorists take their time planning attacks. it took between 1993 (first attack on world trade) to 2001. they're very patient. meanwhile many of our borders go unprotected. our nuclear plants are vulnerable, our ports are vulnerable. i could go on and on. if they really want to keep us safe they should get the hell out of iraq (who had no intention of attacking us) and spend some of that money making us more secure.

meanwhile i'm not going to live my life worrying about being attacked.

5. He kept us safe except when he didn't. Of course that was all Clinton's
fault. :sarcasm:

7. of course. blame it on clinton. it was the bush people who didn't
listen to the experts telling him that we were going to be hit. just like the memo from the FBI in phoenix about the people who were taking the flying lessons.

8. bushco hates Clinton except for when they can use him to 'justify' their
horrendous policies, by twisting the facts of the Clinton Administration. It never works for them, yet they continue to try. Sad sorry bunch, they are!

3. At least from this Meet the Press
The point that should be taken is the unanimous opinion that while we are spending billions in Iraq, we are virtually ignoring the recommendations made to shore up the domestic front. Bush is fighting a war on terra, yet isn't concerned about common sensical and non-invasive changes that can be made here to protect ourselves. This doesn't make any sense, and the Dems should be all over it.

4. Sometimes I wish that we were attacked again so that these people will
shut their cakeholes and open their eyes, and of course I wouldn't anyone to get hurt unless they happen to work in the WH and that would be purely accidental.
