DCCC Bulletin: DeLay is "Finished"
Dare we believe them? In any case, they offer some odds on who replaces him: DeLay Inc., Boehner (OH) Inc., or the Wingnuts?

DeLay gets some good news, but not enough of it...

DeLay's hopes dashed for quick end to case

A senior district judge today dismissed one felony indictment but upheld another against U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay, dashing DeLay's hopes for a speedy resolution to his case.

A quick ruling in DeLay's favor from Senior District Judge Pat Priest throwing the case out of court was crucial to the Sugar Land Republican's efforts to regain his post as U.S. House majority leader. He was forced to step down when he was indicted in September.

Look for Republicans to start jockeying for January Leadership elections very soon, as well as some very disappointing poll numbers out of Houston tonight....

1. Apparently that headline is from the Houston Chronicle, which incidentally
has been trying to get DeLay defeated for years, not because of political bias, but because he's a damned lousy Congressman.

3. IIRC, looks like the lesser charge was thrown out.
This was the original one that was virtually a misdemeanor, and it wasn't until DeLay started blabbing and trash talking that Earle got the second, heavy-hitting indictment.
