Ok. Say You Got A Puppy A While Back. All It Did Was Pee On Your Carpet
Edited on Mon Dec-05-05 06:03 PM by OPERATIONMINDCRIME
It pissed on your carpet every chance it got and would throw in a big pile of crap every so often. But it started to grow and become more aware of the rules that you appreciate. Unfortunately, though now no longer a puppy, and for the most part is peeing and crapping on the rug farrrrrr less often, the dog will be known to every now and then leave a small piss stain.

Well what do you do? Do you kick the dog in the gut every single time he accidentally pisses on the rug? Do you throw him out into the cold world to fend for himself? Or do you appreciate the progress the dog has made and put up with the minor piss stains every so often, knowing that for the most part he is a good loyal dog that is doing the best he can.

Me? I wouldn't dare kick him in the gut or out into the streets, as I would consider that to be abusive, unproductive and hateful. But that's just me. Good doggy, You're a good doggy.

You get it, I hope. :)

1. It's amazing how well treated animals are in the U.S., as opposed to
Human Beings.

3. I think I get it:)
However, I get a new dog and give the old one away to a good home. I keep getting new dogs until one of them finally does it MY way.

and often it's not a little puppy, it's a big rhino that yells that it is vital to the upkeep of your carpet...

5. there are methods to train a dog to pee outside
without beating the shit out of him (which doesn't work BTW)

it's more difficult the older he gets, but feasible.

if you walk him often he wil do its stuff outside and you can reward him with treats every time he does. Inside you can scold him everytime he does. He'll understand.

14. I don't get it either, especially when it comes to kicking
the dog in the gut. I have a foster doggie that would pee and crap on the carpet, but finally he got the message when I repeatedly took him outside and explained to him that is where he is supposed to go. It eventually sunk in. Before that, when he did go in the house, I screamed at him and he knew he did a bad thing.

Believe me, I was tempted to spank him when I would have to clean up a gooey mess from the carpet. But if you are not there to catch the dog when he does it, he does not know he has done something wrong because dogs have a very short memory.

vigilance when training is the answer(same as kids)
