God Lord I Have Become A Believer in Conspiracy
Edited on Mon Dec-05-05 07:28 PM by The Whiskey Priest
CNN was just reporting that Rumsfeld is dragging his feel on responding to Congressman Weldon’s request to allow all ABLE Danger staff to testify before Congress. I was sitting there thinking “damn, Bushoviks are covering up again.”

It then occurred to me that since Florida 2000 I believe everything is possible and nothing is beyond the pale.

So, put me down for:

Oswald did not act alone.

There was a white supremacy cabal behind James Earl Ray

There is an area where the government keeps little green men and their flying machines.

And Roswell did happen.

2. Same here
It wasn't until last year that I started believing in conspiracies. Then I saw what the press was doing with the campaign and my eyes were opened. Since then, I continue to see further confirmation of a conspiracy.
Like you, I'm even questioning the Kennedy assassination.

3. I think if some intrepid investigator can prove that
both the Kennedy brothers and Paul Wellstone were assassinated by operatives within the web of the Project For a New American Century and any cabal that preceeded it, this will be the downfall of BushCo and any other snakes that come out of that den.

7. but how can that be "proved" w/o the MSM reporting it?
Since my age was in single digits -- in the 60's -- I never bought the "lone nut" explanations -- all the lone nuts just "conveniently" targeted figures on the left?

But how does anyone "prove" this beyond a mainstream shadow-of-the-doubt w/o winding up like those numerous witnesses who all "suicided" themselves, etc., between 1963-1967, after swearing they saw/heard other gunment on the grass knoll?

17. A lot of people have tried to prove it with circumstantial
evidence. However, since Lee Harvey Oswald, the one who probably could have named names, was conveniently assassinated it makes getting the facts much harder. However, I do believe that there is information and witnesses out there still alive who might be able to shed some light on this and I believe that some of those in the know are seated in our government right now. It would of course take an investigative panel to force them to testify under oath, but our justice system isn't completely compromised yet, so there is a chance.

It will take a real Sherlock to uncover this, but with new methods of investigating crimes, maybe going over the old evidence with a modern technological comb, might reveal some new information for anyone who thinks it's worth pursuing.

4. Please, Oh Please add election fraud 2004
One of the things that impressed me in 04 was how super secret,
and difficult to get into Bush's campaign trail visits were. I remember watching his speeches and the camera was so close to the
audience that I could read the fine print on the signs, there were
no long shots. When I saw Kerry's speeches, you could see a mass of people. I believe Bush's appearances were difficult to get into, because they wanted to hide how small the crowds were. He never had
a majority of the people. That's just my basic no frills
conspiracy theory on 04. Wearing my tin hat, Miss Waverly

9. Yet another newbie question
What exactly is a tinfoil hat? It looks like, from what I've been reading, that you are to only wear them while thinking about conspiracy theories. What does it keep out? or keep in? And can they be made from aluminum foil as well. :)

16. It's a metaphor referring to government control;
In reality "government control" takes the form of propaganda, but the metaphor has it that it involves some kind of fancy secret brain-wave technology, which the tinfoil hat is supposed to keep out.

The metaphor started life as disinformation, still being perpetuated by some, but has been taken as a 'name of honour' of sorts; CT-ers wear their tinfoil hat with pride.

watch out, you'll blow our cover! We are being watched!

don't let on where you found out, but the FBI is beaming hallucinations (about the GOP government being run by crooks and liars)into our brains via Geico commercials and Paul Harvey. Your only protection is to fashion a helmet of aluminum foil (or as we say in our supersecret code "tinfoil") and try to wait out the attack.

Careful...Malkin must never know!

:tinfoilhat:

oh, and welcome to DU--where do you ski?

As new CT-er, the first thing you should know is that there's a lot of disinformation out there.

How's "Bushoviks are covering up again" evidence for Roswell?

15. I really think the B*sh conclusion is that
if you tell a big enough lie, people would believe it because of the size of the lie. Nobody wants to doubt our government to this level given the width of this falsehood.

Oh, he so misjudged the American people.

American's may be slow, but not dumb.

Have faith - it is not 1933 and we do not live in Berlin.

I think it is very telling that Rumsfeld tried to use WWII analogy to "explain" the Iraq war. It must be true that W has a limited amount of time to come up with an alternative. Just wait til the Okinawa analogy is used.

Our WWII vets are turning over in their graves.

Just a matter of time now.

Joe

23. Are you channeling me? This is the 2nd thread
where you wrote what I had been thinking about.

My tin foil hat moment came with catching a bit of the A&E Bilderburg Group.

Just saw Gen. Odom on tweety made total sense. Now Duncan Hunter (R) Armed svc. cmt. chair. and it's a 1984 moment.

My question, who are the 150 men that run the world and why aren't they doing a better job at it?

27. My take is
that there have always been things done behind the scenes, off the record, laws bent etc by the intelligence services.

In the past it was probably very rare and very discrete but now under the neocons it's routine, on a mass scale, in everyone's face and having the total opposite effect of what it's apparently meant to achieve.

Edited on Mon Dec-05-05 10:24 PM by tocqueville
I saw several undisputable reports of a little green man coming out of a flying machine landing on a aircraft carrier and in hardly intelligible English talk about an "accomplished mission". It was reported too that he came from a governmental area...

it is reported that the same man has been seen wearing a remote control device on his back... and often talk about other aliens coming over the border or planing an invasion...
