I have a solution to the whole "War on Christmas" mess.
Everyone needs to start wearing patches on the clothing (a la Nazi Germany) that indicate which religion they align themselves with. This way, all the employees of the retailers will know which greeting they should use...

:sarcasm:

1. That isn't the point.
The point is that the Christians are staking their sole claim to the winter holidays, let no other holidays be acknowledged, not ever.

More "my way or the highway" from those wonderful Calvinist freaks who would rather to anything but admit the rest of us live here, too.

10. Didn't you notice the sarcasm smiley?
??

She's being sarcastic - not serious at all.

2. Good idea ...
... I just put a yellow Star of David on my coat, and found out I am not allowed to eat in certain restaurants anymore, or take public transportation.

What's not funny is: How far away is that day in our (formerly) wonderful country?

These pseudo-Christians HAVE GOT TO GO!

4. So what do atheists wear?
Because we have no religion, does that mean no patch? Or can I just wear a little John Lennon button?

7. No. You are required to wear a full Satan costume.
Complete with horns and tail, so that everyone may know where your true loyalties lie.

8. Faux News made up the whole thing - there is no war
However, I would be tempted to put on a yellow star and visit all the clerks. How many do you think would say Merry Xmas?

This whole story is a sham. But it does point out that the far right-wing is interested in forcing their interpretation of religion on the rest of the country and stealing the winter holidays for their own.

23. Last year, on Christmas Day, I was covering for co-workers at the store
I worked in retail at a 24/7/365 store, and I covered for co-workers on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I wore my Star of David necklace and earrings, and about half the customers who came through still either wished me Merry Christmas, or told me they felt sorry for me having to work on Christmas. :wtf:

11.  I say let's stand up to the bullies
Edited on Mon Dec-05-05 10:12 PM by DemGirl7
Let's stand up to the assholes, like O'Reilly, Falwell, Gibson, and such, and tell them if you have a problem go ahead and sue, We don't care, and we are not afraid, and mock them. These idiots only do this every year, because people don't stand their ground, and cave in to their demands. If every store, and such would stand their ground, these big babies will eventually shut up. Because they are nothing more than bullies, who like the feeling they get when people cave in, and they win, and are not used to people standing up to them.

19. Enjoyed Kerry saying "Happy Holidays" to
Schieffer on Face the Nation Sunday. I am trying to use that phrase whenever possible - saying it sincerely like I was before the Faux report on the faux war on Christmas. Hard for people to take exception if you say with sincere wishes for them and their families.

Sheesh. Not like there is a war going on and people dying from the cold and hunger.
