1. I must be getting old... But I remember a time
that the numbers on AOL were 180 to what they are today. At one time Bush walked on water per the AOL polls.

2. Just since this summer. Cindy Sheehan was the real wake-up call for
AOL people, and probably the nation as a whole. And then Katrina, and the entire Nation wept once again, but so unlike 9/11.

3. Katrina broke my heart
Our "government" showed zero compassion for its own citizens in their time of need. Relief went out to the Tsunami victims in less time than our own citizens.

I will never forget those haunting faces of a people abandoned by their own government.

5. I know. I wept until it made me ill. I realized the full extent of my
hatred for B* during Katrina.

4. Blue collar neuvo-Repukes have really turned against Dumbya...

They were SHOCKED at how poorly the Repukes handled Katrina. A blue collar Repuke type said to me "we can't get rid of him fast enough" after Katrina - and not coincidentally - the high gas prices that are really killing blue collar people since then - so it may have for selfish reasons :(

6. The whole nation witnessed the suffering NOLA residents and the
decimation of one of the US's greatest and most beloved cities, and also witnessed B*'s total lack of compassion and competence. Maybe one or the other would have been better tolerated, but not both, and with such blatant lack of compassion and incompetence, it was hard to excuse, ignore, or deny.
