5. I think it might be the other way around.............
The politicians keep HANGING ON to God and to show his disapproval and wrath he has hit us with his best shots; hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, potential pandemics, etc.. What does it take to get the message across???? No God from any religion wants to be associated with the politicians for OBVIOUS REASONS that are apparent to ALL of US.

Like politicians run and hide from W and avoid being seen with him. That kind of "support" is counter-productive.
