WSJ: Delay May Not Run
by RandyMI
Tue Dec 06, 2005 at 08:52:25 AM PDT
This morning in The Note, I came across a paragraph hinting that, despite last night's fundraiser with Dick Cheney, there is a possibility that Tom Delay just might not run for re-election in 2006.

"The Wall Street Journal's Brody Mullins Notes that if DeLay thinks the court proceedings will "drag on," he could choose not to run for re-election. "In Texas, Republicans must file for re-election by early January, and Mr. DeLay has yet to do so."

As far-fetched as it may sound, Delay may have to make a choice. As much as he loves power, I'm sure he loves freedom even more. It's also possible, I think, that Delay could recruit a Republican to get elected to keep his seat warm until the trial is over. Who knows. But if he hasn't filed by now, he may be weighing his personal options. Running for election while simultaneously fighting for your freedom is never easy thing to do.

5. Bingo, and use whatever information he's gleaned on the
inside to blackmail every fellow congressional member he served with.

3. LOL So keep an eye on the $$ just raised!
Was it for his defense fund or war chest? Does Cheney do special appearances at defense fund raisers? Wow, HIS dance card will be filled up if he does.

6. Afraid to lose face with a bad beat in his home turf
He is like all Republicans. When the going gets tough they scram... Chickenhawks should be their animal symbol instead of elephant. They have absolutely nothing in common with an elephant yet Democrats have everything in common with the jackass. IMO only...
