only a few people looked at it - I will call my reps today, because I truly believe this is a window of opportunity, now that the majority are finally against this immoral war.

Too bad this Call-In day was also ignored by top liberal sites. I also sent info to buzzflash, huffington and others asking them to post today. I thought for sure Common Dreams might have something up today - but NO.

Picking up the phone apparantly is too much to ask.

I often wonder about DU's priorities.

Here we have very simple menthods to take direct action and the posts sink. It is for that reason I have significantly cut back my efforts here.

In my lighter moments I think its just burn out, other moments I think many DUers think we need to stay there until we meet some as yet undefined goal... Im sure the Iraqis are so happy we will stay there until they have their own security and army set up, because that could take ten or twenty years.

I did these actions and I wish others would as well, but apathy and agenda seeking will cripple the effort. It makes me want to just kill myself sometimes I swear.

calling their reps regarding these issues, just not everyone posts what they are doing as much as they used to. Considering that much more is being reported than ever before, one would have to assume it is because of citizens like yourself taking the time to demand accountibility and justice be served..

For many, as for myself, it does seem to be taking longer than it should, but progress has been made and I give the American public kudos for such progress.

I remember when a great many members identified themselves as progressives or liberals, now it seems many have left and newcomers are more centerist/rightist.

I guess the newcomers can't be blamed since that is exactly what the New Middle Dems did.

"Oh I'll stay a moderate centrist type even though the middle has moved drastically right in the last 5 years". I honestly don't think that they understand that they would be repubs 5 years ago with their current stances.

Immediate drawdown starting as soon as they get over this next sham election, just keep drawing down till we are out whether or no they meet some criteria of stability. I guarantee you a true multi nation security force will fill in as soon as we start leaving in any meaningful numbers. Until then they'll just see any attempt by us for what it is... shit.

I am way to depressed today to be doing DU, it really makes me feel so useless, helpless, unwanted, uneeded and unheeded. Major depression.
