SYRIANA - What impact do you think this movie will have on public opinion?
Do you think this movie will serve to expose our administration's true motives? Will the public be swayed???

2. Did "Traffic" halt the drug trade?
No. But it educated people.

18. Same film makers
Both films done in documentary style with multiple, interconnected subplots.

4. from what NPR was saying last week no matter who you are and
what your views are this movie will make you think what our country has done and why they did it. But I still have to see it and make my own thoughts.

5. I haven't seen the movie
but if F911 had no impact then this will not either

We haven't lost enough of our children before anything has an impact

I wonder how many parents would feel about sending their children to Iraq. Do they believe it is really for god, country, and mom?

6. None.
You have to see a movie before it can have an impact on you. This looks like a fine piece of work, and I'm dying to see it, but my gut is that it will be lost in the wash of holiday releases.

10. could it have been A&E?
They had a program on it this week -- quite well-done, with lots of interviews with the filmmakers and various experts.

16. I think the name of the show is "MovieReal"
I tuned in early because I was planning on watching the show that was coming on after that ... was expecting the typical "fluff" entertainment coverage, and was quite impressed.

It would be cool if they included this show (or at least clips from it) on the "Syriana" DVD, when it's eventually released.

9. Probably too complicated
for sheeple to follow - all those plots you know.

I cannot wait to see it. Clooney is doing his best within the parameters of "entertainment" ala Good Night and Good Luck and Three Kings a while back to inform the masses without going the Roger Moore path.

I love Moore - but anything he makes is guaranteed to go mostly to the choir. With Clooney there is the hope of a broader audience to get them thinking.

Pretty soon the right will brand him as another Moore -- but not yet.

I am impressed with how he is using his fame and smarts to pursue important issues in accessible ways.

15. None if it gets the same screen number as "Good Night and...
Good Luck." The closest it came was two hours from me. Jeesh.

17. No impact at all. The sheeple will not go and see it. The people
that will see it already know what's up.
