21. And PLEASE God, don't catapult Liebermann into being a Rummy-sub, either..
Edited on Tue Dec-06-05 06:58 PM by Wordie
(It has been suggested that Lieberman be a replacement for Rumsfeld!) Could any self-respecting Dem go over to the dark side, and work for the repubs??? Sheesh, the fact that this is even being discussed in some quarters ought to make people realize how far to the right of the democrats Lieberman's positions are.

Edit: typo.

33. LOL...let's hope not! Oh, wait, we are ALL ON the Titanic...Yikes!
Let's also hope he doesn't have fantasies of becoming the one to save the nation, either. That would be one thing that might over-rule the mind of an otherwise intelligent, albeit misguided, person.

Although, if he's saying that we should support the President (because of course supporting the war IS in many ways supporting the President), then we need to have some healthy doubt about the level of his intelligence as well. All the more reason he should not replace Rummy.

14. Joementum is fully under the influence. An intervention
was planned before he became a parasitic lemming under the command of captain bush bunnypants and PNAC torturer, Voldemort Cheney. Joe jumped without a safety net while intoxicated. He is firmly in a persistent political vegetative state. Frist will render Joementum's health care from a videophone. Joementum is completely lost to the Democrats, forevermore.

25. Excuse me, but the DLC is parroting this same talking point:
DLC | New Dem Dispatch | December 1, 2005
Iraq and the Vital Center

Yesterday, President Bush unveiled a "plan for victory" to shore up sagging public confidence in his Iraq policies. Though it broke little new ground, the president's speech at the U.S. Naval Academy did provoke an unfortunate reaction from House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, who endorsed Rep. John Murtha's earlier call for a swift withdrawal of U.S. troops.

We share the widespread frustration with the Bush administration's utterly inept handling of Iraq's post-conflict rebuilding. But too much is at stake in Iraq for America to simply give up and come home. What Democrats really should demand from President Bush is victory, not a hasty departure.

http://www.dlc.org/ndol_ci.cfm?kaid=131&subid=192&contentid=253638

So accroding tothe DLC, the president is inept. Yet their plan is for us to demand victory from the inept president. Okay.

32. He was the reason we lost in 2000
Well said.

But even further....
The dems will lose if they attempt to gloat about how bad the war is going.

We have to do a few very important things to win in 2008...

1. Articulate clearly how to be proud to be a dem and take Limbaugh head on regarding the demonization of libs.
2. Stress relentlessly the concept of strength at home....and specifically what can be done with the money that has been squandered in Iraq.
3. Education about the Middle East and how democratization of this area is impractical.
4. Education about the economy, and how a coalition still has the only long term success of keeping us from spending ourselves into oblivia.
