FITZY: He's Baaaaack before grand jury today with lots of briefcases
Edited on Wed Dec-07-05 10:24 AM by kpete
Guess who? Fitzy is back before the grand jury today, along with several deputies and lots of briefcases full of material, according to the WaPo and CNN.

No news as yet whether testimony will be presented today, but we'll certainly update as we learn anything. In the meantime, check your popcorn supply -- it could be a banner week.
Fitzgerald, accompanied by several deputies seen carrying files as they walked into the grand jury area of the courthouse, made no comment to reporters about the nature of his visit.

The Plame Investigation
Libby's Role
Fitzgerald Presents New Information to Grand Jury
First Appearance in Probe Since Libby Indictment

By Carol Leonnig
Washington Post Staff Writer
Wednesday, December 7, 2005; 9:48 AM

Special prosecutor Patrick J. Fitzgerald appeared this morning to present information to a new grand jury in the CIA leak investigation.

Fitzgerald has been probing for two years what role senior Bush administration officials have played in leaking a CIA operative name to the media in 2003.

Today's appearance was the first time that Fitzgerald has gone back to a grand jury since the Oct. 28 indictment of Vice President Cheney's chief of staff, I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby.

4. I like the fact that it took Fitz and several deputies
to carry all the files. Must be one heck of a case.

5. You don't need to go in front of the GJ if you decide NOT to try to bring
charges...

Hmmm, I've been having ReThuglican Indictment withdraw - been sort of getting used to it every week or so - Delay, Duke, Scalon - we need a new Top of Page article.

Right alongside Top 10 Conservative Idiots.

This Week's Indicted ReThuglican!

15. Maybe he'll cross paths with info on Chalabi spying for the Iranians
Boy, wouldn't want him to find out about Treason in addition to the outing of a CIA operative.

20. He has to bring the GJ up to speed, thus 3 hours spent and vast documents.
Only problem is:

This GJ did not personally see Rove lie, and they have the ability to perceive Rove as being forgetful because they didn't witness his crimes of obstruction of justice & perjury against the previous GJ, IMO.

This is the most brilliant reason for Rove's attorney having gotten Fitzgerald to delay his request of the GJ for an indictment(s) of Rove, IMO.

The false witness was offered at precisely the correct time to cause the GJ that actually witnessed Rove committing crimes to be detached from the process of holding Rove accountable for those crimes.

The new GJ has no history with Rove, and thus no hard feelings based on such history of deceit, perjury, and obstruction of justice against them as a GJ, IMO.
