Pets Needing Help
Dear Snowball's Chance Member,

I am writing to you on behalf of the animals slated to be euthanized at
the high kill gas shelters. They are destroying animals in the most
inhumane way.

These are very adoptable animals, however the shelters are very full,
and not much time is given to the dogs and cats before they are
euthanized. With all rescue resources stretched to the maximum due to the
hurricanes, in addition to the normal problem of overpopulation, many rescue
organizations may not be able to take in these animals. If you or
anyone you know can foster, adopt, or even sponser one of the many shelter
animals needing to be saved, it would make a difference.

***If you cannot, do you have any suggestions? *** Time is always of the essence in dealing with these shelters, so I would greatly appreciate a response as soon as possible!

Below this email is a list of links for sites that you can
visit who are active in these rescue efforts.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth,
Snowballs Chance

1. BTW
Snowball was the dog in NOLA ripped from the little boy's arms as he got on the bus to Houstan.

2. If you come across a stray animal - have it fixed. There are many

families out there who want a pet but cannot afford the vet bills. Then you advertise it with all the local cat hospitals and the like. Take a photo - make some flyers. And get ready to have to say goodbye to your houseguest really soon.

For many families - a extra dollar a day is all they have to devote to a pet. And if you get them a cat that is fixed and has its shots - they can take it from there.

4. The humane society here use to have adoption gatherings at places
like the pet stores, shopping centers, and Walmart. They would advertise and get a lot of people in. And it being Xmas this would be a good time to parade the people before all the cute little pets.
