IRAN IS NEXT. THE DRAFT IS COMING. DO NOT DOUBT THIS.
Edited on Sat Oct-18-03 11:03 PM by homelandpunk
3 weeks ago I heard Bush give a preliminary Iran soundbite IDENTICAL to the Iraq war spin begun a year ago. I literally could not believe I heard his voice saying what he said, but I did...on NPR. And since then, nothing. But if it is gonna be ramped up, yes, the draft will HAVE to come back. And the talk about "it is up to iran if we go to war" talk will be the exact same bullshit, but this time people will know it is bullshit because Bushco will have begun drafting the cannon fodder to hurl at Persia. It will be kinda hard for them to say they "are not wanting war and it is in Iran's hands to stop war" when we are the country doing all the preparation. It was the same with Iraq, but the draft was not happening then.
IRAN IS NEXT. THE DRAFT IS COMING. DO NOT DOUBT THIS.
Why am I so certain....I already said...I heard with my own ears Bush talk about Iran with the exact same words he used for Iraq. Just because he has not said anything in the last 3 weeks, what is that to them?...The BFEE has uncommon evil patience and determination to implement all their original PNAC plans...nothing has changed. And if Bush started saying it, and he is on record now, we here KNOW that the moron warmonger cannot - physiologically, emotionally, and most important, religously - cannot change his mind. If he spoke about Iran in the same terms only 3 weeks ago that he had strated speaking about Iraq a year ago, then it is CERTAIN the war with Iran is coming. Yes, if Chimpy were a complex HUMAN being, and an adult, we could second guess ourselves about what might happen. Isn't it SICK that we can know....and if we can read the idiot so easily, the rest of the world (and it's military planners) can as well. Which does not portend good fortune for our soon to be drafted troops.
Holy fuck.

I remember someone in the misadministration was quoted anonymously saying this.

2. I may be putting too much faith in
the sheeple, but I really think that this time the Bushistas won't be able to get away with it. People are already starting to get tired of Iraq and frustrated with the whole situation, and are beginning to become suspicious of Shrub's true motives in invading Iraq. I don't think they'll fall for it again, and I sure as hell do NOT believe they will ever accept another draft.

10. mmmm...they accepted the 2000 coup
Once sonmething goes into effect, the sheeple are too lazy to actively oppose it. We had the largest protests in history prior to the iraq invasion...didn't faze their plans one iota.
I truly believe the agenda is to make America a nation in chaos anyway....the more internal strife the BETTER. Subjugation, not governance, is the goal.

29. Not until 2005
The Bush League will not even attempt a foray against Iran until after the elections. Don't forget there are congressional elections going on at the same time and the National GOP is afraid that if Bush goes down, their majoritys go down with him.

I expect a lot of folks to be distancing themselves from Bush over the next year, especially if the Democrats are able to stop the backstabbing and infighting and arrive at a candidate that will appeal to the majority of voters in the majority of states.

Oh, and avoid a platform that puts tools into the hands of the foe.

14. 9/11 took us all by surprise.
2 years later we are a lot wiser to this administration's gameplan. I think neither the majority of Americans, nor the rest of the world will accept a new Bush adventure in the ME. I really think this will galvanize the American people against this administration.

Let them try to institute a draft and see how this will awaken the slumbering majority who may be apolitical, but understand that a draft means Timmy will become fodder for the BFEE. My son is 15 and there is no way I'll let him fight a war created by this unelected AWOL fraud.

15. And also
Bush can't afford to take a chance on another war before the election. He will try to make Iraq look good before the 2004 elections and (god help us) if he wins in 2004 it' Katy bar the Door!

Everybody thinks it will be either Syria, Iran, or N. Korea before 2004, but I doubt that unless Wolferwitz, Pearle and Rummy are complete idiots.

Strikes first, or the illusion upon the sheeple is made to look like they struck first. Never underestimate the phony polls and the media to rally the sheeple.

I do know this , Bushco needs a distraction and fast, they've taken some hits over the past 60 days.

20. All it will take is another 9-11 event of some sort.
Edited on Sat Oct-18-03 11:32 PM by DeathvadeR
I'd agree that they are backed into a corner though. For them to attack anyone else would be loco. especially another premptive style vbullshit no one will buy. Isreal running jets over everyone, Or attacking across borders hasn't worked like they wanted. It very well might have to come to another oops 9-11 again, We played with those bombs, Your falling apart!!!!

It's very clear they are waiting it out though. They wouldn't keep a shit load of military over there. How long will 67 billion last for them to stay put??? And all the while they need Iraq to look like its falling apart so they can use it for an excuse.

BTW, is a smiley face really sincere??? Does it mean I am smiling? happy? relaxedf? cordial? it is all virtual BS.
Rub elbows with flesh elbows and don't take this virtual community BS so damn seriously....at least not keyboard minutiae...if you dispense black and white judgments thru a damn keyboard, it's a waste of time.

19. Truer premonitory words have rarely been spoken at DU
Without a doubt is this what's happening.

All is unfolding according to the script. The draft bit really upsets me but as a 20 year vet and 4 of them spent analysing recruitement of some very specialized people, I agree with you. The writing has been on the floor for a long time.

I just pray we can somehow stop them in time or that someone will.

22. Does the military have the resources for this?
Edited on Sat Oct-18-03 11:29 PM by Darranar
The manpower? The money? The equipment?

Lack of such things is the only reason they haven't gone to war somewhere else yet; is there any reason to believe that that situation has changed?

If there is, then this is indeed a cause for tremendous worry.

24. First, a "terrorist" attack on Americans,
probably at an an overseas American embassy. Second, we attack Syria or Iran pre-emptively in retribution, (like we did in Afghanistan), because "they were harboring the terrorists". Third, the draft, because our troops are spread too thin and are already engaged, and we lack reserves. Fourth, the sheeple buy into a second "Pearl Harbor type of catalystic event".

PNAC logic.

26. Nah the Democrats finally got their act together
Iran isn't coming because Bush doesn't have the support our the resources for an Iran war. GOP senators, amongst them Lindsey Graham who replaced Strom Thurmond, are questioning Bush's spending for Iraq. Iran war = 1) no congressional approval 2) no re-election.

But it could be Iran. Then again, we HAVE pulled out of Saudi Arabia, too...I've heard him waggling his limpy at everyone in the region (except for his buddy Sharon)

It's a sure bet Bush hits somewhere in the meddle east next. Where is a guess right now.

33. Fuck the draft
I am pretty sure I am exempt due to epilepsy, but even if I were elligible (I wouldn't put it past this administration) I would not go. First off, the last thing they want to do is piss me off and then give me a gun.
Secondly, and more importantly, I am not serving one fucking day until I see every god damn male FReeper and Bush supporter between 18 and 30 go to serve, as well as the children of every single FReeper who is too old to serve.
"What's that, you are proud that you voted for Bush? What's that, you are sick of anti-American liberal traitors? THEN FUCKING PROVE IT!!!! Get your ass over to the Middle East!!!!!!"
