What would you put in a counter-Bush library?
When the Clinton Presidential Library was being planned and constructed, some freepers were planning to build a "counter-Clinton library" to tell the "truth" about our esteemed former president. Sadly, the counter-Clinton people ran out of scratch and had to cancel their plans.

That, and the fact that after you put a portrait of Harry and Louise, a blue dress, a box of cigars and a set of "Cock Sucking Bimbos 1 through 41" on display, there wasn't much you could hold against the man. Apparently, even freepers draw the line at paying millions for a storage shed-sized museum, even if it does "tell the truth" about the man they love to hate.

The Bushes are different. With the proviso that it's got to be about the entire Bush clan, what exhibits would you put in the counter-Bush library, and why?

I will start:

* A portrait of Adolf Hitler. Bush family money was pivotal in financing the Third Reich, and they didn't stop until the federal government confiscated their bank.

* A portrait of Manuel Noriega. Thanks to Noriega's claimed hatred of communism in Central America, the taxpayers of this great nation got the rare privilege of supporting one of the worst drug transshipment agents who ever lived...and we didn't even get any free drugs out of the deal.

* A portrait of Osama bin Laden. Because bin Laden hated the Soviets who invaded Afghanistan, we armed and trained his gang; this training came in right handy when bin Laden decided to attack the United States in retaliation for garrisoning non-Muslim troops in Saudi Arabia.

* Copies of "The Pet Goat" and "The Very Hungry Caterpillar." Bush was so enthralled with The Pet Goat that he couldn't break away from it even after his dad's business partner started driving Boeing jets into the sides of major American landmarks, and his wife, a former librarian, claims that "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" is her husband's favorite book from childhood even though it was released a year after he graduated from Yale University.

* A complete set of transcripts from Bush 41's and Bush 43's speeches...with the mispronunciations put back in.

Okay, jump in...

6. My Pet Goat and The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Of course those ones will probably be in the actual Bush library as well, in fact they will probably be the only ones in there because they are the only books Bush is capable of reading.

14. The books written by people in his administration trashing him.
Like Reagan, Bush will have plenty of current appointees writing nasty tell-all books after he's out of office. Added to former Sec. Snow, the many former military men and ambassadors already trashing Bush, it will be a large library.

23. Midpoint compilation...
We've got, so far:

a picture of Hitler

a picture of Noriega

a picture of bin Laden

for good measure, although no one mentioned it yet, we probably need a picture of Saddam Hussein too

The Pet Goat

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

a shit-stained copy of the Constitution

a hanging chad

his indictment

addition: the indictments of all the members of the Bush administration

the schoolbooks he never used, although I'd be careful here--since the fucker was too cheap to buy real rolling papers, he was probably tearing pages out of them to roll spliffs with so they're incomplete

the Segway he fell off

the bicycle he fell off

a brush hook

the Downing Street Minutes

the 8/6/2001 Presidential Daily Briefing

a jar of genuine World Trade Center asbestos

a depleted-uranium projectile

photos of all the troops he killed

photos of the 163 people he executed while he was practicing bloodthirstiness in Texas

photos of all the people he displaced to build the Ballpark at Arlington

a special room where you can Do the Lynndie if you so choose

a Humvee blown to shit by an Iraqi landmine

an incubator

the horse Bush loves to ride on his ranch :sarcasm:

one of Bush's pickups--preferably one of the ones he wrapped around a telephone pole while he was roaring around in a drunken stupor

the football--they've got to keep it away from the SOB somehow...

the golf club he was holding when he told the reporters "now watch this drive"

his Nintendo

an infusion set from the Huntsville death chamber

a pictorial chronology of Bush's history in the oil business

the dictators Poppy propped up

Poppy's Cigarette boat

a Halliburton slant drilling system

deconstruction of the October Surprise

Poppy's "voodoo economics" speech

a picture of Willie Horton

some stationery from Silverado Savings and Loan

a breakout of Bush's cronyism

a mounted duck

24. Copies Of Legal Documents Relating To Businesses
If I were the head librarian for a counter-Bush library, I would try to acquire documents relating to such failed enterprises such as Arbusto Oil and the Silverado Savings and Loan.

I would also see if I could find the course syllabus for some of the college courses that no. 43 took at Yale. I think that seeing how no. 43 ducked the getting of knowledge would make for a fascinating study in psychology.
