I didn't think I'd say it, but Plan B has convinced me that I'll be voting
for Rod Blagojevich regardless next year.

Just saw a piece on CNN about the Illinois/Walgreens/Plan B/Fundie pharmacist situation and I'll definitely be voting for Blago again next year.

If you have a religious reason to not dispense medicine, DON'T BE A PHARMACIST!!!

1. I just saw this
and I am so angry I could kick a puppy. Who do these fuckwits think they are? I should know better than to watch the news.

2. Yep, that goes for any profession. If religion interferes with the
practice of your profession, time to find a new fucking line of work.

They need shelf stockers at WAL MART, I hear....

3. Me too. (sigh)
I am not in agreement with Blago on many things. (And his whole 'thing' with Elvis concerns me but is another matter altogether.) But, he is a DEM and the other Repugs running are nuts. So, the choice is a given as far as I am concerned. (I hope to g-d we don't have to listen to Topinka shrill voice for more than her year campaign!)

5. Blagojevich stopped it in Illinois
which is why he has me vote all sewn up next year.

6. Just curious, but how long do you think a Target cashier would last
if she/he refused to "ring up" Plan B because it violated her/his religious beliefs? Couldn't it be argued that completing the monetary transaction was participating in this immoral (immoral to them, anyway) act? And, really, how long do you think a cashier would last with this kind of behavior?

7. Superb question! A pharmacist's "conscience" is more important
than a cashier's? Brilliant. What about a Hindu fry cook at Wendy's who refused to touch beef on religious grounds? The mind reels with the possibilites of accommodating everyone's superstitious taboos...but pharmacists - PHARMACISTS!!!! - are a special case? This nation is in serious trouble. Seriously.
