1. I'm watching
What I'm noticing is that the Bush supporters are parroting his talking points, ignoring his contradictions and lies and are speaking in generalized platitudes about freedom and terrorism.

I'm surprised that even the deaths of their sons have not waken them from this stupor.

2. They probably can't come to grips with the fact
that their children died for no good reason.

3. I think it is disgusting

a mother honoring this administration and supporting this war using their dead children is criminal. I know I am making an angry statement and it sounds cruel but what the hell are they thinking? The support Bush and the war?

7. They probably
want to think their child died for a reason. I totally understand what you are getting at, but if I lost a child, I'd rather think they died for a good cause than for no cause at all.

8. what pisses me off
And I'm sorry if this makes some of you mad but it has to be said. I think it's sick to continue to support the killing of other mothers children to say your child died for a noble cause. I hear many supporters who have lost children continue to say we have to say the course because my son/daughter believed in this war. Ok, that is all fine and dandy but I wonder if any of these people will take a step back and look at what they are saying. You just lost your child, you know how much that hurts why in the hell would you support the deaths and grief of some other parents, mother, wife? I know they want desperately to win this war so they can rest easy at night knowing their child died a noble cause but this war is not going to be won. I think most of them know that. To continue to support this war is to continue to support the deaths and grief of other families in the hopes that this war will be won. I find that to be selfish and without reason. I would never wish the death of a child on any parent. You would think those who have lost their child would say no more hurt and pain for other families. For gods sake stop the killing and madness already.

4. War is a force that gives us meaning...
Edited on Sat Dec-10-05 12:20 AM by jab105
its incredible watching it...I wish that there was some discussion of the blanket statements...but they just dont want to believe that their sons died for the most noble causes...I think every person who has a tragic death in their family searches for the same type of meaning...but the reasons that they are giving are just not reality...which is even sadder...

the ones who disagree with the war are having a hard time voicing their opinions, because the pro-Iraq war opinions outnumber them to such an extent...

6. yeah and if you disagree you're called un-patriotic, and not
supporting the troops. yeah the one lady is now calling for crushing the insurgents. they should ask her to point out the insurgents.

9. I agree.
The worst thing that any mother can go through has happened to them. Its natural and even necessary that they try to make sense of it somehow. Some of those mothers will never be able to face the truth about their son's deaths, but some of them are beginning to realize that Iraq didn't have to happen and their children didn't have to die.

Something that I've always wondered about...

If we hadn't gone to Vietnam and Iraq, how different would this country have been if those people had lived to grow into their future? How long before our current leaders finally get smart and stop the waste?
