Fighting CHICKENS!

Just heard on CNN: a boy in Thailand (sadly) contracted avian flu, he had been playing with his uncle's "fighting chickens". You can keep a bunch of chickens together, but, once we played a joke on a retiring co-worker who wanted fresh eggs for breakfast, and said that he would need at least one cock per chicken. He believed us, fortunately, the nearby farmer explained the facts of cock to him before chicken coop mass murder occurred.

Aren't they just saying the kid was exposed through the fighting cocks? How is that not a serious matter? It's pretty common practice in that part of the world, making more infections likely, isn't it?

with the fact that Hens don't fight (much) and in general people in the know don't refer to fighting cocks as chickens - its a more general term for a flock but still technically accurate....at least I think that is what the OP was getting at...:shrug:
