1. 49% Voted Yes?
For real?

"in Newport News, Va., an estimated 8,000 people showed up for the town's Christmas celebration, except they are calling it that. They're calling it Hollydazzle. And instead of lighting the 40-foot Christmas tree, Newport News officials are going to be lighting, get this, the tree of illumination."

So what's stopping people from calling it a Christmas celebration and a Christmas tree if they so choose?

21. Yes...by insane people.
You know we are controlled by a wingnut media when Jerry Falwell can announce a campaign and it is treated seriously. . .I mean, after all - wasn't this the man who said Tinky Winky was a shill for the gay agenda?

These people thrive on war and conflict. Everything out of their mouths is always about war.

7. This is an internet thing
brought on by Faux News. Saying Happy Holidays does not exclude those celebrating Christmas or Hanukkah. Both which occur on 12/25.

9. Also answer this related MSNBC poll question:
http://msnbc.msn.com/id/3080261/page/2/

Should the White House card say "Happy Holidays" or "Merry Christmas"?

10. Also, scroll down and rank the story low.
With all the other stuff that came out in the trash today, this Faux driven blather is of no real importance.

Also, it's still at 49/51....

14. I just don't get this.
People have been saying "happy holidays" since I was a child. It's nothing new. It's always been right there with "Merry Christmas" and "Happy Hanukah."

Why are people convinced this is now a new thing as part of some insidious war on Christmas? Are they that brainwashed? Do they not understand common courtesy or even the fucking concept of the holidays being Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanzaa, New Years, etc.?

19. No, they do *not* understand common courtesy.
Obviously, it's a no-brainer - you say "Happy holidays" because you can't be sure that the stranger (or customer) in front of you celebrates Christmas, whereas everyone enjoys the "holiday season".

I guess it's a no-brainer unless you have no brain.

16. I got my own private war against Xmas
Ever since I didn't get that Barbie doll in '56, I've put the kibosh on Xmas. Plus, Xmas was when we had the family blood bath events.

17. I think you asked for the Barbie a bit too soon.
She didn't come on the market until 1959.

Hey, there's only so much Santa can do.

18. Christmas, Holidays, Christmas, Holidays, Christmas, Holidays
NOTE TO THOSE IN A TIZZY OVER THIS: GET A LIFE! Leave your megachurches and feed the hungry, shelter the homeless and help those less fortunate than yourselves. Did Jesus hang around whining about Christmas and Holidays? Sheesh! Celebrate Festivus or something. This whatever-you-want-to-call-it season cannot be over soon enough.

It has either been made a "cause" by the freeps, or NBC is diddling with the numbers.
